M3s went over a sidewalk. Plastic cover broken. Repair Question.

Hi,

My M3s went over a sidewalk - no comments how it ended up over it. (deadhorse

No damage to the bumper, however, the plastic cover below the engine broke. It seems like a rather weak cover. I am trying to find the name of this part before I get to my unexpensive dealer.

Any ideas?

it's called an "under cover", "air dam", or "difuser"
anyway, the part number is BP4K-56-111L

yes, DO replace it because if you don't, it may cause cooling issues, reduced fuel economy (due to increased aero drag), and poorer high speed stability (aerodynamics)

i know of some guys who removed it day one and have no issues, but in the area i live in i would think it is a must, with road grime/snow/salt and s***....

those things are kinda crappy though. Mine broke when i hit something that was in the road (some trash or sumthin). Mine was cracked so i just took it off, and then covered the whole thing in fiberglass a bunch of times and now its hard as a rock.lol
