lugs for oem wheels?

Can anybody recommend lugs for oem wheels? Looking for red ones.. not too expensive.. will keep the wheels on thr car. For oem wheels. Muteki n gorilla are the only ones I keep finding. Will I be ok with those?

I have a set of blue Muteki ones. I have had them for 5 years now with no issues except the blue starts to come off, but that was probably because I kept changing wheels for every autocross.

I've been using gorilla spline lugs on my last few vehicles and they've been holding up fine. I'm pretty sure I've used moteki's a long time ago on the wrx, but it wasn't for long and they never saw an impact wrench so I can't honestly tell you how durable they are. McGuard lugs seem to have a very good reputation.

Just make sure you have the right type of seating for them. I'm not sure if the OEM lugs are conical or radius seated, but if they're radius seated and you use conical lugs on them, you're in for a world of trouble. The vast majority of tuner lugs are 60˚ conical seated.

Can somebody verify this for me? I don't want to get the wrong ones.. I know the oem ones are a bit tapered at the bottom. I'm fine with muteki or gorilla just want the right ones.. closed cap.

I know Gorilla and McGuard will have OEM style options. Not sure about Muteki. Most of the OEM lugs are the acorn style though, tuner lugs tend to be narrower and longer. I probably have my stock lugs laying around somewhere.

I am pretty sure that they are conical. Honda uses the radius/acorn, which stinks when you change wheels for autocrossing because you have to change nuts as well. My Miata I know is conical. I think every time I switched wheels between the Miata and the 2 I changed nuts as well just because they match the wheels better. I can check tonight though for the 2 as long as I remember when I leave work.

ok as soon as I posted that I had an idea. I looked it up on Rosenthal Arlington Mazda and all mazdas do use the same lugs.

Also when I mentioned my civic they use the ball seat. The tapered and acorn are the same and that is what all mazdas use. Probably because Mazda is awesome!!

You can use either or, the problem is, once you go ball seat you can't go back to conical on the sam set of wheels as they normally set their own groove in the wheel. Atleast, that's what my experience has been

I have a set of Gorillas that I got powdercoated body color. They're solid lugs, but do weigh a bit more than the OEM ones (if that matters to you).

Wow, indeed! Honestly, anyone who actually needs this kind of "performance" from lug nuts doesn't need them to be that pretty or to be locking, for that matter. Those are marketed to people who don't really know what they're doing and also happen to have a lot of money burning a hole in their pocket. And those people are probably just buying Lambo's, anyway. Can't imagine they actually sell a lot of these.
