sucks. hope everyone is fine. But was she driving like a retard? Also that third pic looks like the car has a bloody nose :p

Glad everyone's ok. And not for nothing, but if I were her parents, I would've bought her an older cavalier or neon. Teenagers always wreck their first cars. The nicer the car, the worse the wreck. Poor car never had a chance.

And as a friend, I would've asked how she wrecked it. I'm pretty sure it wasn't "oops a daisy... I was putting on lipstick and I fell off a cliff. Silly me".

Because even though it was your friend and some other people you know in the car, it could've easily been you in there instead. Know the driving habits of the other driver before you get in the car with them. There's been times when I've told my friends, no thanks, I'll drive myself there or I've volunteered to drive them all myself. I don't like to get into cars with people that don't pay attention to the road, like to race other cars, drinks and drives or is just an all around bad driver. It's your life, don't put it in someone else's hands.

well she says that she was driving on this long road, and then they were all singing in the car and got to caugh up with that and didnt see a sharp turn...

Ummmm yeahhhhh.... just one question... is she blonde????? Cause I can understand playing with the knobs of a radio, or eating a cheeseburger, or maybe trying to fend off a wasp that got into the car, but singing?

Now that I think about it, ask her what song it was cause I just have to know. (rofl2)

hey man,
im really glad everyone came out ok, tell them just to be very careful and buckle up. they are all blessed to have come out alive.

on a lighter note.... did anyone notice how the yellow one looks like it has a nose bleed?

edit: i now see vindication already said this...GOTTA STEAL MY THUNDER EH!?!?! WHY?!?! JUST WHY!?!?

just playin man.

considering you're 16, you're friend is probably also that age, and they get a friggin lancer? geez. what are parents thinking these days? When I was 16 i had a hand me down 6 yearold toyota pickup. "My" first car was a base model civic hatchback. I paid for every cent of it, and learned about responsibility and stuff.

She wrecks it, and the parents buy her a new one! Unless of course she's a drug dealer and can afford a $30k car at 16...

uh it is a lancer yes, but not a lancer evolution , it is the non turbo lancer that is somewhere under 20k i think.

d'oh. never mind. :p

This was my first car in high school and I didn't get it til my senior year in 1992. It was by no means brand new and the transmission needed replacing. But it got me from point A to B with little to no problems and I didn't care that it wasn't the prettiest or fastest car out there. I went to a high school that had 16 year olds that drove BMW's, Acura's and Mercedes. I never looked twice at their cars or cared since I had my own sense of "freedom". I grew up with a job, not a silver spoon.

Besides, my own son will be getting a clunker. Not because I can't afford to buy him a $20k car, but here's a few reasons why I choose to do this :

A) lower rate in insurance
B) he's going to help buy it cash because he'll have a job- no financing
C) he'll be less likely to show off and wrap himself around a tree
D) he'll be more likely to take better care of it since most of the money came out of his own wallet (and because I'm going to tell him that I refuse to buy him another car if he wrecks it out of negligence... there's always a bicycle). :D
