better off having it welded, the cost of welding is cheap

do new lsd's make noise like bad bearing kinda sound when they are first installed? i just had a welded lsd put in that i purchased from streeunit and the guy working on my car found that it is making noise like the thrust bearing is bad or something. is this normal before its broken in? any answers needed!!!

mine just started doing this also.... LSD going out? happens going straight too... when accelerating hard (mostly 1st and 2nd gear)

the failure most of us experienced doesn't give any warnings. basically what happens is the center section breaks into 2 pieces inside the ring gear, with one output shaft being attached to each piece, the car will not put power on the ground.

i've heard from probe owners that JDM trany from mx6's come w/ LSD which can be used on FS-DE as well since probe's tranny is an option for FS-DE as well, so in stead of spending ~$600+ to get new/welded LSD get the whole trany w/ lsd for around $450 then all you have to do is bolt it in.

I prefer to have new parts if I'm going to spend the time and energy. but for a low buck option I suppose this would be feasable as long as the fitment all works. Anybody know if the ratios are different? Might be preferable to those that wanna move gearing in one direction or another too.
