Lowering Options for the MSP

I figure it's way past time to put together a thread containing pictures of all the various aftermarket suspension setups on all the MSPs around here -- springs and coilovers and anything else -- since there are countless threads started in this subforum revolving around the 'what lowering spring should I get?' concept. And now, rather than try to hunt through a bazillion posts, people can just come to this Sticky to find examples and ideas -- and some eye candy. :)

So post up pics and details of YOUR suspension setups! Please make sure to include all pertinent info -- what kind of springs/coilovers, struts, wheel sizes, wheel offsets, tire sizes, wheel spacers, etc.

Additional (older) info can be found here: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68010

My own contribution ..

Back in 2005: on stuck struts, Tein S-Tech springs, and 18" wheels with 35 series tires; the springs had JUST been installed, so they weren't fully settled.

A few months later, with springs settled (and a few other adjustments ;)).

Look at the obscene rake, the back end looks like it's floating on hot air balloons, barf. And don't laugh at my tail lights, it was a phase!!

The Tein S-Tech springs didn't last very long, I couldn't stand the rake; swapped 'em out for Tokiko Illumina struts and Ground Control coilover sleeves.

My final setup, and favorite by far: Tokiko Illumina struts and Progress springs.
Just installed, not settled:

Also, the pic in my sig is from this same suspension setup.

This thread is a great idea!

Here is my MSP

- Road Magnet Springs (claimed 1" drop from MSP ride height)
- Stock MSP Struts
- 17"x7.5" +42 ATS DTC Superlights
- 225/45/r17 Nankang NS-1

Here are a couple different angles, I couldn't be happier with how even the drop is.

I have spent a lot of time compiling this list. Hopefully it will make people's decisions easier. Each link contains pics. Maybe we can sticky this?

This is about as complete a list of spring options with pics as you're gonna get. All sorts of pics from all sorts of angles. Most cars are on stock Tokicos, with stock Racing Harts.

can anyone help. i just got my msp on tuesday. and the car has tein springs on. but the thing is that the front i cant even get one finger in and the rear i can get like 1.5 fingers in. the springs are green.

no, in fact I've seen cars with teins on them that are much worse than 1.5 fingers.

either live with it, or change struts.

I don't see the problem... (evil)

Please add Yellowspeed coilovers to the bunch!!!

I think I'm the first MSP on these.

I think coilovers and their various differences aught to be left to another thread, as the discussions to be had are significantly different than drop springs.

others feel free to agree or disagree.

also, zuku... more info needed on your setup. PM?

Thread doesn't say springs only. I don't see why coilovers shouldn't be included. Spring/Strut combos are essentially the same w/ less adjustability.

I actually double checked the thread title and first post when I posted here to make sure it didnt say springs LOL
As far as camber goes not sure but it's going to be changing either today or tomarrow morning. PG doesn't have a wheel alignment device so I have to take it in to get aligned
