Lowering Car

yeap- Spool, Ion, Eibach, Tein, H&R to name a few. Do a search and you will a ton of infomation on that subject.

Since we're on the subject, does anyone know if the correct Eibach's are part # 5540.140 (from their site, and for the MSP)? Anybody have these installed?

Moo shove, Moo shove.

Ten fat chicks and a blow torch will fix ya right up. Just stuff those heffers in there with a snow shovel and some crisco, commence to a heatin up them thar sprangs and presto fatso your auto will be low in a jiffy.

haha

haha, I had a kid around here who decided to torch his springs. Cept he didnt go to far to make any kinda measurements, like how long to hold the torch there? or how long to let the car drip down? Yeha, when he was done his little civic hatchback with fartbomb muffler ran pretty bad. Both left springs dropped nice, but his right front, and right rear springs were way un even, so it looked like he had a 1000 pound gorilla on his passenger seat. It was ridiculous. I think he drove that car off a cliff though...

I just ordered the eibach pro kit... I just got the ones for a normal protege... they dont have them for just the MSP... at least Im almost for sure..

rofl........

welcome to my AIM profile

lmao

would lowering it 2 inches with good springs (if thats even true? i know nothing about lowering cars) affect the suspension/handling sigficantly or just a little?

murdock_ - depending on how the springs were designed, handling characteristics are altered. For our springs (sport and race) we designed it to allow handling more like a RWD car @ the limit to provide a car which will carve corners quicker.

Don't lower this car, it is already lowered from the factory. Also, the boys at Racing Beat spent months on this suspension, if you lower it you are just going to go and **** it all up.

Not true. I have Spools on my MSP, the bad ones even, and still with 140 lbs. of sand in the trunk to level it out it handles even better than factory (it's true).

Side note: I might take the Spools out (the bad ones, as suggested by Terry) and don't know if I'm going to put the new ones back in, since the idea of redoing the springs another 2 times isn't all that appealing to me. Anyone interested in them? I'd be willing to sell them if someone wants them more than I want to install them. :p

can someone tell me more about this bad batch of springs, i have a set from that last group buy that i havent installed yet and am wondering what this is all about. I somehow missed this up till this point.

is it just me or would lowering the back more than the front make a great deal of sense? witha full tank of gas (more weight in the back) the car handles better.. so would dropping it 3inches in the back and 2 in the front make more sense? dont flame im just new, correct me if im wrong, but it makes sense to me :)

but that would mean the front gap will be an inch more than the back right? ehh, i dont think I'm willing to make that baja look sacrafice for some better handling characteristics....but thats just me. Or u can do the fat chick thing in the back hehe!

your car is already lowered more in the back than in the front stock.. the racing beats are .75" front, and .875" rear...

have you ever seen a stock protege?? how the ass end is way in the air?? on ours it isnt...

if you are going to by springs, remember,, our car is already lowered some.. so you have to subtract the stock racing beat lowering, from the springs you want to get...

for example.. my pro kit that is coming.. lowers 1.5" front and 1.75" rear... that means, that it will be .75 and .875 lower than the racing beats..
for the spools,, they lower 2" all around.. but that will only be 1.25" front and 1.125" in the rear..
