love my 1.5 month old cx7 but......

I'm having some issue. Ivr noticed a lot of tsb for the 07s so my day off tomorrow will suck. 2000 miles cel is on,worse mpg than my 06 tahoe, busy highway shifts, no lowend grunt, tips covered in soot when water comes out of the tailpipes it stains me driveway black, misalligned hids, sorta shutters at highway cruisinf speeds, window down roll up or down smoothly I'm sure I'm missing something I have a list for the dealer tomorrow. And to think I choose this over the tire roasting equinox sport I wanted but my wife wanted this. I like it but once the bugs get worked out ill love it more lol

Hmm OK, Go to the dealer, when you get access to a PC, Check out the TSB Thread(print out all the ones you want done), it will have lots of Fixes for your problems, the HID's are not misaligned, thats how they we're designed, so you don't blind oncoming traffic, get the TCM/PCM reflashed, it will fix MANY busy shift problems/turbo lag problems, the CEL is likely the cause of the gas cap or swirl valve, when you bring it in have them check the reason, and see what that is, they should be able to fix it, and it shouldn't turn on again.

And I've posted on my Kick with better spelling.

Kidding!

wow my grammar was really bad. the gas cap is on all the way im not an idiot lol. im hoping the reflashes help, you'd think that dealers would fixes these problems before they sell them. i cant imagine that they would design the hids to be a foot higer on the passenger side as compaired to the drivers, thats about how much higher it shines.

Well, if it's off putting you can check to see if it is too high at the dealer, and try to adjust the manual level switch, you have a GT right?

It costs money and time to do those reflashes so they try to do as little as possible.

Make a list of issues you have and check if a TSB list covers that problem. CX-7LOVE is spot-on as to getting the latest PCM & TCM updates can make a major difference in drivability. When contacting the service writer just mention the problem and say you have heard there is a TSB to cover it. They don't like being told to do this TSB or that one. I was always confused as to why any manufacture (beside Microsoft of course) would need to have software updates. The PCM has had at least 3 updates judging by the letters A,B, C following the original so even following the original Vin # is not the best way. . I'm just happy that Mazda wants its customers to be happy and has done something about these issues.

If your dealer was on the ball all those TSB's would have been done before you took delivery.

most tsb's are done on an 'as needed' or when symptom is present condition.
(unless it is safety, and then it's a recall) they cannot say a car will or will not do a certain issue. tsb's are just 'known problems' not all cars will have them and unfortunatly a person usually has to drive them for a bit to find that out.

+1 peajay. TSBs are done on a as needed and dealers do not just perform them automatically. In addition; TSBs are not like the "free recalls" and may cost the customer although I have not heard of Mazda charging on the CX7 YET. So get the ones that are causing you issues (PCM & TCM for sure) and don't demand the dealer just arbitrarily do any & all if you have no problems. Ed

There was a memo sent out to Canadian dealers instructing them to perform all the PCM/TCM updates to in stock vehicles before sale.

I read that it was (suggested) to USA dealers. Mine was updated months after I purchased mine (build date 3/2007). From what I have read presale updating would have been a very good idea with respect to ower satisfaction in the USA.
