Loud POP from windshield every spring, but not damage yet

Was driving 20mph on an empty road when a loud POP came from my windshield, but no damage. Sounded like a 70mph rock hit it, but was going slow and no traffic. I think its from expansion of warming up from the winter. It did the same thing last spring, just once. I just hope it doesn't break the next time. Anyone else hear this?

I have put about 500 Miles on my 2015 CX-5 GT, and so far no pops or cracks just yet.

Our temps in Reno, have not been wildly fluctuating YET, but I am keeping my eyes peeled. During summers, we can go from the low 50's at night to 105+ days.(boom06)

My vehicles are always garaged but the summer heat and sun are really intense!!!

If it were me, I would not wait...I would put myself on record about the pop, (dealer AND Mazda USA), considering that there have been numerous complaints on windshields, that I have been following. It appears that some have been lucky when the windshield cracks (stress, not rocks) and their dealer took care of them. Some have not been as lucky, and the dealer blew them off, claiming rock hits.
My 2015 GT has smart city braking and rain sensing wipers...windshields must be a fortune (my comprehensive has a $500 deductible).

I owned a Mini 2004, and had the same experience! The dealer claimed a rock hit and refused warranty! Years later a class action was won by Mini owners about the stress cracks...Damage as usual, was already done!
Good Luck
