Loss of Storage

For all of you that have utilized the door pockets in previous cars, where are you putting all your "stuff" in this car? I currently have something in every door pocket of my Subaru.

I think of it as an opportunity to organize. If it's in the door pocket for more than a month or so and I haven't used it, I probably can put it int he trunk, if I even need it in the car at all.

Storage or lack thereof

my wife just bought a 2014 mazda 3 4 door. The lack of storage is unbelievable. Her last two cars were honda fits. Honda had plenty of storage space, two glove boxes, door pockets, hidden under a seat, center console and more. I have many a mazda, 323, 626, b2000, original rx-7 and all had storage of some kind. It is hard to understand the logic on this new 3. Perhaps an updated door panel will become available either oem or aftermarket.

You are not the first to mention this. Times have changed. With USB and NAV we no longer needs CD's or Maps. Not sure how many times you visit a drive thru per week. I do every day. Throw the trash in the bin and receive new coffee. Glove box stores the extra napkins, lip gloss and sunnies. What else is there? It just forces you to keep it clean. :)

I'm willing to bet that most buyers of these cars do not haul around 3 kids and the family dog in them. Most of the drivers I see in them are driving, alone. I will occasionally take my family to church and then grocery shopping, but there is plenty of room in the trunk for whatever we buy - no need for cargo pant-like doors and seats.

My biggest beef as far as storage is concerned is that there is no good place to keep change. I have mine in a zip-lock bag in the armrest storage bin.
