know what makes me sad? i changed a ford escort motor mount at work.... and thats the piece i used. it just really bothers me to have it rubbed in my face that mazda is ford =[


shed a tear with me my brothers and sisters! :'(
 
your fookin kidding me the mount for the escort and that one are the exact same?
I would imagine the price for the escort would be a lot less then the mazda speed one.
any thoughts on this one ppl?

the ford escorts use the same engine as the first/second gen protege's, but i highly doubt that the motor mount i got (that fits 3rd gens) would fit in a ford escort/2nd gen protege

More solid link between the chassis and your engine. If you look at your engine when you turn the car on an rev it you'll see that it does a lot of moving in there.

For our cars, that means mostly getting rid of that terrible wheel hop you get whenever you try to burnout on 1st. You also get it on a wet day almost anytime you try to start out from 1st kind of fast.

Another thing it helps with is the changing of gears. Since your engine is more stable, so will your gearbox, and whenever you change gears the box will move less and your shifts will become easier.

If you decide to get serious power for your car (turbo) it's recommended you get better mounts or else you'll just destroy them:
