looking into new system

So currently I have 2 12" polkaudios running on a 400 watt amp and its not really doing what I want. I'm looking for something that will hit hard as in rattle windows in peoples homes hard and not cost more than $1000 for subs and amp. I'm not much on audio knowledge so I don't know what a lot of stuff means but I can figure it out I'm just wondering what you guys would recomend. Also no ebay or rockford stuff I don't want anything over rated or overpriced

Try out the Alpine type X sub and the Alpine MRP1000 amp. They are great and hit hard. If you really want to go big then go for the JL audio w6 or w7.
