looking for totalled P5

I'm in need of a tiny part. The red rubber sheath that goes over the bulb under the plastic "PRND21" pice on the protege5. Mine was accidentally discarded when the bulb was being replaced, now the light color does not match the rest of my guages and its very annoying. So if you've got a wrecked auto P5 or just got different color guages and don't need this sheath, please let me know.

On a side-note, I'm willing to purchase from a vendor but am unable to find someone selling it. Willing to buy the plastic "PRND21" piece as well.

Go to walmart or your local auto parts store and they sell rubber bulb covers in red blue green etc. They also sell red taillight tape that should work to make a red lens.

Thanks for the compliment. Now my only problem is, what size cover do I need? Are they one size fits all, or do I need a part number for the bulb?

One size fits some. They had 3 sizes last time I saw them. Get the tape too. I'm sure the bulb isn't too large.

Wow, I didn't know they could be bought at Walmart either, I threw mine out for my autometer boost gauge before I knew what it was.

Donas - I don't understand why you got upset at mazdaspeeder. I took what he said as alot of people look for this part and can't find it.

not upset. Just misunderstood his post. I thought he was being sarcastic that I didn't know the part was readily available at wal-mart.

If it's just to change the light of a bulb to a different color there are a lot of easy ways to do that. I used the little red "bulb condoms" to change my Miata's guages to red.

If the bulb is a really tiny one then the red taillight tape should certainly be an easy fix.

Soooooooooo.....neither advance auto or Walmart had the sheath. I picked up some tape but it was pretty tricky to wrap it around the bulb. I'm about to call the dealer and order a new bulb and see if ti comes with a sheath.

Is this some kind of super special bulb you couldn't just pick up at autozone or somewhere like that? I went to autozone to try to find the little cover for the bulb in my boost guage, they had them, but not the size I needed, so I ended up just getting a colored replacement bulb instead.

i dunno what kinda bulb it is, but if its one of those 194 ones. summit sells them for the autometer gauges. u can get them in many colors.
