Damn.... This sounds good. Schools out in 3 weeks and I should find out if I can get a MSP or not. I got family in LA that I havnt seen in a long time.... Road trip!
Let me know if you talk to the guy. I've never done any "bird-dogging" before, but I'd appreciate the chance to get credit for the deal!

What interest rates is he willing to offer?
I have no idea. I don't have any involvement with the dealership (I only asked about the MSPs when I was on the lot looking at Mazda6's this week).

He sounded pretty eager to get rid of them. If you guys want to know the truth, I think you might be able to name your own conditions on this one -- he seemed pretty intent on getting them off the lot. I know for a fact that those same 5 vehicles have been sitting there for months and months!

Well, if he's that interested, he sure as hell isn't showing it. Not only is his voicemail still full, but the first time I left a message with the receptionist he didn't get back to me until real late, and I'm still waiting for a call back from this morning.

I have a friend who is looking to get a new MSP & he is here in South FL. I've heard people talk about getting cars shipped from another state when they aren't available where you live. Can someone tell me more about this & give me an idea what it would cost?

In case anyone is interested... Orange Ford/Mazda in Albany, NY had two yellow MSPs last I knew. A month or so ago, my father bought a Silver one for $16,200. The sales guys said they really wanted to get rid of the last MSPs, I would not be surprised if they'd take around $15,500 or so.

I heard that it's a flat $700 to get it shipped from an out-of-state dealer...can anyone verify this?

OK, my friend just came over & checked out my car & took it for a little spin. He is now sold on the MSP & wants a Titanium, so if anyone knows of anyone new ones around here or that can be shipped here, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! :D

Can anyone tell me, when you ship a car from another dealer, do you make the deal with the dealer that had the car or with the local dealer it gets shipped to?

I always go to a dealer, tell them exactly what I want, and then have them find it (exept my P5, where I found it at mazdausa.com and printed the sheet out and gave it to them). They have it brought over.

About shipping charges -- I've done it several times and never been charged for it. That's just my experience. However, paying something for the shipping does make sense to me, because I'm sure that someone ends up paying for the cost of shipping it.

By the way -- the dealer here doesn't have titanium, but does have 2 silver ones.

Are you stupid man??? (hand) Even Moderators are starting threads on how bad the msp protege is!! Get da SRT-4

dodge wont be making them too much longer if their profits keep going down. daimlerchrysler lost money last quarter. even if they do make fast cars...they dont make money

Any luck, Kain? If Andre hasn't called you yet, I spoke to a sales guy yesterday while looking at cars who said he would definitely, positively take care of you ASAP. His name is Michael Bergeron.

Keep me posted on how this is going. Looks like I'm about to buy something from them.

That dude never called me back. I don't like dealing with unprofessional people, especially when it comes to something as expensive as a car.

I'll give that Michael a chance, but my patience is wearing thin with that dealership.

That's interesting.

I met Mr. Andre last night when I bought an MPV for my wife. I asked him about calling you back, and he said that he never got your second message. He also said that he shares the desk with another sales manager and that somsone else had moved your contact information and he couldn't find it. He would be glad to talk to you about the car, but he doesn't know how to get in touch with you.

I guess it could be BS, but it sounds like it's an honest mistake on his part. I also asked Michael Bergeron, and he said he hadn't gotten a message from you.

If you can't get them, let me know. Now that I've bought something from them, I should be able to get through to them for you if you need me to.

Good luck!

I thought you were waiting to get a few referrals under your belt so you can buy your wife a 6?

My wife decided on the MPV (I was totally shocked). They'll probably still give me a bird-dog fee, but that doesn't matter all that much. Just trying to help out.

I have yet to call Michael (have too many things going on at the moment). Realistically even if this did take place I'm looking more at end of May or June.

I hope you told that first guy that he needs to clean out his voicemail, otherwise he'll lose other potential deals, if he wasn't BSing.

If it was just buying a car on his lot, I don't think it would be any different than buying one locally, aside from shipping the car halfway across the country. No, the problem is that I have a car that I'm making payments on now, and that I'd be trading in my current car for one of the MSPs in LA. I don't know how they want to do this, if they want to use a dealer local to me as a go-between or if I want to buy an MSP from my friend who works at the local Mazda dealer and have them arrange a dealer exchange.
