its funny this tib/msp thing came up cuz over thepast couple months of waiting for my msp I have thought about a tib. never seriously but the thoughts do cross my mind....mostly this...

positive:
awesome supra ripoff looks
v6 engine
low price
can get sunroof.....

negative:

I also read an article somewhere (probably SCC) that said the V6 is lethargic and belongs in a minivan or SUV.

Yet in every SCC i get i see the new tib coming in 1st or very close to 1st in WRC.........

Im dumbfounded. If the tib can do this well in WRC then it MUST have tunability. and if it has tunability, and starts with a v6, and is cheap, and looks awesome, then why arent they flyin out of the showrooms? I have only seen a few on the streets. I dont get it.

Anyone have any thoughts?

about the awesome supra ripoff looks. I thought i was the only one who thought the same. I honestly, think the Tirburon designers took the supra into consideration while putting this together....
the negative: yes, made by hyundai I totally agree.
.but we can't always see them as negative products....they've never had a bad rep (not one that i know of).....so what if they're made in Korean? They can still be good, right?

The V6 is the same one found in the Santa Fe....I honestly think to save cost and to maintain a low price, they just dump that motor in this car and called it a V6 powered Tiburon....big woop

The Tib does have tunability, if that's a word. Reportedly the stock exhaust is VERY restrictive, and some owners have reported 10whp gains on a cat-back exhaust.

I've read that Tibs with just basic bolt-ons have run high 14's in the 1/4, that's coming from mid 15's or higher stock.

i Ran a GT-V6 Tiburon with a Aem CAI, against my friends stock SpecV, and i beat him twice by 1 1/2 car lenghs. Even with him having a CAI. Got the tibby good on the start and just stayed all the way till the end of 3rd gear. He just let off after that, Cause we already were just about in the 1/4. BTW(scratch) Tiburon GT-V6's run stock:

0-60.....7.6sec
1/4mile...15.7sec

:wtf: I think thats a load of :bs:, he probably biased...mb he owns another Hyundai and went from there...Ive tried out a Tibs b4, and the handling is no where near a Protege 5 n/m the MSP... When I think Hyundai, I think Kia....Dont get me wrong, a Tiburon is a great 2nR car, but over a MSP? You gotta be joking...How he gave it 10's and 9's and complained about the handling and such gets me...

BTW tritonheat1, your story...Im confused...your the one driving the Spec-V right? cuz in the beginning you said you were riding the Tiburon...

thats why i wouldn't buy it. seriously it has come across as a cheat alternitive to companies like Mazda, honda, nissan, etc. it has to change its image to sell more cars. and plus i don't know why the put such a weak v6 in there. my ledgen had a 240hp 3.2 v6. why can't they do the same. it pisses me off when car companies under power cars. ::cough:: ::cough:: Mazda MP3 ::cough:: ::cough:: my bro dodge avenger has a 2.5L v6. :wtf: i know more 4cly that have more displacement then that. they car is so F*cking slow. why even put a V6 in there. why don't put a 4cly in there is there are going to make it slow. stupid car people.

from what ive read, the MSP will do a quarter in 14.9-15.2
