Longest on a tankfull

My weekend milage:

I drove 398 miles on 12.5 gallons this weekend; 31.82 MPG. Used no AC, most of it was highway driving between 75-80 with a couple blasts over 85 MPH due to caravaning to and from our dyno-meet. This was on 89 octane mobil gas!

This average included my 4 runs on the dyno, too. Not bad......

I would really love to know why I can't get better mileage. The moment I drive over 70, it just guzzles gas like crazy! I use 87 octane gasoline. Maybe it's because I'm getting near the 96,000km inspection/service (timing belt and others), and it does need a revision.

One question to all : are you using the cruise control a lot?

i usually use 87. i have clean filter in, new plugs, oil has about 3-4K in it. i get around 30-32 driving around 75 MPH with no AC and windows half way down. Usually no load in the car and I am easy on the throttle.

I never use CC.....

If I were to go 60-65 I am sure it would improve a lot; CC would help, too but i am easy on the throttle anyway.

My normal driving around town i get around 23-26 MPG with my sprinted driving.....every once in a while i will get 19-22 which kills me and usually is a lot of sprinting driving.......

I fill up every 7 days, usually falls on friday night, and after riding with the light on for a bit im at 320 miles

Temps are getting warmer, so mileage is also getting better : just did 7.84 L/100km, that's 36mpg IMP or 30mpg US.

Average after 39months : 8.55 L/100km, that's 33mpg IMP or 27.5mpg US.

Hello V? Got my PM?

Nope, closer to 90% highway. I drive from the South shore to Granby every day, and we use my wife's Civic on weekends.

Hey Red_Baron: that's 70% highway driving?

i have never actually checked the mpg --- but i just came back from a trip and got 360 - 380 miles per fill-up

normal daily for me is half freeway and city -- i get about 310 - 320 per tank

400 miles on the nose @ 70mph in 5th. Straight driving. It was when I moved from CT to FL. Suprisingly that was with the car loaded with computer equipment and running on a rather rich set-up with 93 octane.

I wish we had some nice refined diesel engines in Canada with decent power. I would be the first to buy one.

i just did 425km and it only took 28 liters to fill the tank ...... but that's on my geo metro =\ that's like almost 36mpg or something hehe

450 KM in pure city driving and you all know Montreal more freakin stop signs here then in all of Canada.

Last tank : 7.63 L/100km. That's 37.02mpg Imperial, or 30.83mpg US. Still mostly highway driving.

I just broke my personal best. 652km on a tankThat's about 7.27L/100km which is awesome cause it cost me 46$ to fill up afterwards.(nuts)

Salut!
