Long Term Road Test

I've ordered a MS3 GT, TBB 2nd wk June. I've read every article on all MS3's and I've read several topics on this web-site. A lot of these members testify to hard driving of the MS3. This stock car is amazing (performance for the price) but I'm wondering how long these cars last when they're driven hard? My guess is not very long. Who has the most mileage on a MS3 without replacing clutches, trans...... and what is your style of driving?

Cobb's ms3 is probably the best example of long term road test. They have modded the car and track with zero problems. They have even commented on the reliability of the car, especially since there evo x and 08 sti both had trouble at their last track event but the ms3 was fine.

I have over 4,000 miles on my car without a problem.

I am a hair over 10k with no issue and I drive hard but not abusively all the time. The only mod I have for now is the MS CAI.

seriously though, a dude at work has like 25k on his and I know he romps on it, cause he is always telling me that he beat some srt4 or whatever... he hasn't had a single problem with his.

I baby mine except on track days.

M3Speed's are only 15mos old so I suppose there's not enough mileage yet to say with certainty. I was anticipating testimony that met or exceeded R&T's Long term 30k trial. Their test so far says everything is nominal.

My '08 has 13,000 miles already and all I have done to it is change oil oil, rotate the tires and put Redline MTL in the transmission (to smooth out the cold weather 1-2 shift). Runs stronger than when new. No bad habits at all; no oil consumptiom, leaks, nothing!! Cheers !

Some of us had them 3qtr 2006.

Mine has 28k on it and still running strong and man is it fun to drive. I have some mods on the car and the car still runs great. My driving style is spirited since I need to make sure the money I spent on the mods are worth it

Its my daily driver and so far so good even after a harsh winter.

Mine is 15000 km its his 2nd winter and its been trough 12 autocross/drag event last summer. I have less than 20% wear on 4 brakes and no oil consuption at all. I dont baby it but im not alway pedal to the metal and it never failed on me. On my last car, i totally weared off the brakes in less than 20000km so i assume that MS3 brakes are pretty solid.

Just over 10K miles. No problems but last oil change period showed some oil consumption, which the dealer said was normal. I'm not sure. My exhaust is stock so may be hiding some turbo leakage.
