Damn...see this is why I <3 you guys. Here I am dreading my next move, but with your help I can actually plan it out a bit better. Looks to me like DC/IL might be the top 2 with NJ making a strong case for itself.

I'd stay away from DC, I lived in the area for a few years (my dad was actually stationed at the Pentagon) and my girlfriend lived up there for a year when she graduated so I spent a good amount of time there both as a kid and as an adult. Yes, the museums and culture are a big plus, but the high cost of living, high crime rate, and poor school districts more than outweigh the cultural benefits IMO. There are some nice areas around the area where crime/schools aren't bad, but you've got to pay to play so to speak.

Thank you sir!

Folks...the final cut off day for me to submit my preferences in 21 Oct...so get ya votes in. :p

As far as i can remember...when I flew into Scott a few years back...we flew right over the arch.
According to globalsecurity:

Scott Air Force Base is in Illinois. It is located about 20 miles east of St. Louis near Belleville.

Ugh, my niece lives in Belleville and she hates it. Not really much to do, no real cultural kind of stuff going on. But being on the base might be a whole different story.

Too bad MacDill wasn't on your list of options, Phil. If you hate the cold, sunny FL is the way to go! (thumb)

id say NJ, somewhere near where you can take a bus or train to the city. DC can get REALLY congested, even more so than north jersey

I know Tampa Bay is cool.

(werd) MacDill is minutes from downtown Tampa and Ybor City. You've got the FL Aquarium, the Lightning, the Bucs, and the beaches and the Rays are just across the bridge. :D

All choices are fail. Travis AFB is where it is. Only 40 min from San Francisco. I like it here. What is your AFSC?

Well, Im not anywhere near where you guys are at, So I wont vote. I Do know that NJ is pretty sweet. Went there once for a week to hop between NJ and New York. I rather enjoyed it.

I do have to ask though, are you going to be able to bring your cars back with you?

Andrews so you can come out to some MD meets :)
I definitely plan on that if I get Andrews!

Yes I know. I'm a Staff now and all the 3-level Airmen get all the good stuff.
I'm a 2tango2 (PORT DAWG!!) and I KNOW my job is there...pax/cargo hub + the AMS sqdr there. As for Travis itself...you're not telling me anything I don't already know haha.

I've been to NJ on business, I had a pretty good time. Atlantic City is right there, Trenton, Jersey Shore, The Big Apple, Philly and DC by train...

My white P5 is already in the States...waiting for me to pick her up at my old superintendents garage. As for the Miata, if I head back stateside, the US govt ships it back for free for me. I have all bases covered in that respect.

please vote...I am serious abut choosing my selection off of your choices.
