07 MazdaSpeed 3 Red
hey guys
well i just bought my 07 speed 3 in red
and i have to say i love this car!!

i want to start modding soon but i'm kind of a noob when it comes to it
so i had a question
which is better CP-E xcel nano or CP-E xcel CAI???
which would give me better performance?

sorry if this has been posted before i tried searching and came up with nothing lol

Any Short Ram Intake (SRI) like the Nano will have the advantage of sitting higher in the engine compartment & therefore be less likely to suck in water (when driving thru puddles, etc.) & damage your engine. However, they will be sucking in warm air, which is not ideal.

Any Cold Air Intake (CAI) will have the advantage of being situated outside the immediate engine compartment to suck in that wonderful cold air. But they all sit lower to the ground, increasing the possibility, however minor it is, of sucking in water.

And a SRI is also quicker/easier to install/uninstall if you want to go back to stock for dealer visits (Don't know if you still have warranty left, but it may be a concern.)

From what I have read, expected performance gains are very similar between most CAI's/SRI's. Perhaps there are more informed opinions out there with data (like dyno sheets, etc.) to make a point. We'll see...

thanks man.
i've been reading around i've noticed this is a very hot debate lol
but i think i'm going to go with the SRI because i do still have warranty lol

u should also look at protege garages intake. its much cheaper and its basicly the same as the cobb. also they have a very nice turbo inlet pipe (TIP) that is also inexpensive.

another mod u will want to do right off the bat is get a new rear motor mount. it will help get rid of that stupid wheel hop that the ms3 is plagued with.

if u havent already checked it out, protegegarage.com usually has the best prices. ken the owner of that site is super helpful too. u can pm him on this forum if u have any questions about products.

CAPTIAN KRM P5 is his screen name
