LinuxRacr's Car Progress Log..

not sure if you are aware of what the adjustments on the sway bar mean, but further to the end of the bar is soft, street setup, the softest would be no bar showing at the edge of the bracket. The tightest, least oversteer setup would be the other way. I have mine at a close to stock setting in those pics. In fact, when I replace the hardware, I will be tightening it up some more now that I have had plenty of time to get used to the new turn in. I think those endlinks made a huge difference too.

Hmm... That explains a lot to this suspension newb (me). I now remember that this bar came off Distan Tea's MSP. As I remember, he is an autocrossing fool! :D BTW, what was the stock setting? All the way to the end?

sorry, not endlinks, but trailing links make a huge difference. You would have to ask Tony at AWR about the adjustable endlinks, he answers email pretty quickly. He usually answers the phone, too.

Stock setting is near the end. I installed my trailing links at the same time, so those are helping me out, too; though I don't know how much. Try it out near the end, if you find they are a too soft (ie - no change) then tighten it up, and try out some corners. You'll notice a nice difference in turn in.

I have mine set up for the tightness I guess. I didn't adjust what Distant Tea had set. I just installed it. Time for some oversteer.

i don't know if it will get you that far, but then again, I haven't tried it. One thing to keep in mind, is that it means easier spinning, especially in low-traction conditions. Oversteer is a stock safety feature in most cars.

My local Ace hardware store does not carry these cap screws in stainless, so I am going to buy 100 of 'em for $5 from a local fastener shop. Result, if you can't find em, or you just want me to send em to you, all you have to do is pay for shipping, and I'll send 8 of em out to you.

Glyph, that's awesome! I'm definitely down when you get the screws.

UPDATE(S): The bumpers have been painted, and the car is prepped and ready to go to the paint both tomorrow!

Pat, have you considered picking up a condensor from Matty, or one of the other WOMP guys. since they don't need them anymore you could probably get one for cheap ;)
