Like Son, Like Father

Dad gets the white!
I'm jealous, cause although I prefer the '08, in the sun that white is just the prettiest thing... ever...
At least mine has black stockers :D

Sounds like you guys have that father/son/car bond that is the greatest thing...ever. Props to dad for working hard so his son gets nice things, and then still knowing that you save the something for yourself. He probably drives faster than you do. Any other cars in the driveway?

'85 Corvette
'96 Cadillac SLS

But the wild children are in the garage :)

And I agree, Mazda meets are going to be a blast.
Also gives dad and I a reason to get out more, wash our cars together.
It's just pretty much awesome.

haha....can't wait for the MS3 father-son recall trips =). That's really cool that you guys can have that kind of thing in common. My dad's not a car guys at all, he couldn't for the life of him figure out why I washed/detailed my 10 y/o ford escort every week when I was in high school. It may have been a P.O.S., but it my was P.O.S. and for a car enthusiast I was just happy to have something. Drive safe though man, it's a lot of car for a young driver. That, and a ticket now can screw up your insurance for the next 8 years, lol.

my dad hated the idea of me buying my car 2, but now if i let him drive it, he comes back with a smile on his face, boost ftw

that's the cutest thing ever lol

sometimes I let my dad take my car, if he's just going to the grocery store or something... I joke around and tell him he can't handle the powah

if my parents bought me any car at all, i would have been probably alot better son! lol

Your parents would probably say, "if he had been a better son we would have bought him a car."
We all remember what we were like as kids differently than we really were, some more so than others.

my dad almost crashed mine the first time he drove it and hasnt been behind the wheel since....

story - he was passing a combine (large farm vehicle for you non-hicks out there) and took his first venture into 3rd gear and full throttle, the torque steer practically ripped the wheel out of his hand and we narroly missed ramming into the side of the combine. i havent really banned him from driving it, but he'd just rather drive his car haha

My dads first ride....

right after me and my old man went to pick mine up i let him drive the last 30 miles or so of our road trip. I had gotten on the interstate a few miles ahead of him in his truck. So I gave him call and said....

Me: "Dad, I been on the interstate for about 3 miles, I havent seen any cops or exits"
Dad: "I'm on the on ramp now i'll see you in a second" -click

......

about a minute or two later i see a black streak fly by me, then my phone rings

Me: "Hello, having fun?"
Dad: "We'll she'll do 155 without a problem. I'd recommend you take $100 from every paycheck and put it in an envelope labeled 'insurance and tickets'. This thing is awesome!"

and just so everyone doesnt lay into my paps. I got the car used with 10,000miles on it. so he wasnt beating on a brand new MS3.

That's pretty sweet that your dad shares the love for cars with you. I'm also fortunate enough to have a father that supports and encourages my modding habits. He's also like a little kid behind the wheel of my car, but he also gets to play with bigger toys than I have (GT500s for one example). The man can definitely drive, and I'm thankful for what he did for me for my first car. Instead of getting me a POS Escort, I got a 92 Daytona IROC R/T. He made me learn how to drive a manual, and to this day I thank him for it.

Nice pair of cars guys, and good luck with them. I'm glad I didn't have a new car in HS, it was just too hectic and I'm too anal about mine to have someone ding it up.

Well as far as having a car like mine in HS goes, I wouldn't really know.
My car has been in the shop for the last 8 weeks, if you recall the "Best Shop in Oklahoma" thread, yeah, that was me.
It's still there, they are pretty much refusing to do any work on it, and we've been constantly lied to throughout the process.
Maybe some day I'll get it back, but I'm not guessing it will be any time soon.
Btw, anyone from Oklahoma, avoid Trinity Restoration on 91st street at all costs.

Stephani, you're my dream girl :D
