Lighter Plug Fuses

Hey guys,

I have a 2007 Mazda3 and my lighter fuses keep blowing. I've replaced the fuse in the passenger compartment and it blows after a few weeks. Also the plug in the console doesn't work ever. I'm not sure if it is another fuse that needs repaced or if it is a different fuse. Does anyone have any ideas? I might just have to take it to the dealership to have it checked out.

There is only one fuse for the lighter. Don't know what you using in socket, but if it requires current that is close to the fuse rating, that could cause it to blow. If that is the case you shouldn't use anything that needs more current than the circuit can safely supply.

I just checked the console auxiliary plug in my car and it doesn't work with the lighter. I noticed it has a plastic spacer ring over the center contact, that may prevent it from working with the lighter. I tried a phone charger in the plug and it works fine.
