What is considered a light rim in terms of pounds? I have the opportunity to buy a set of rims that weight 24.5 lbs each. Is this average, light, heavy? Looking for some knowledge on this. Thank in advance.

Try not to lose your weight savings through the tire, too.
I'm pretty sure that the RX8 rims are lighter than ours and fit nicely as well as look good on our cars. I bet you can get a set from somebody who swapped theirs out for a good price.

explain please.
check tire weights.... its pointless to go with a lightweight rim then add a heavy tire on top of it. For the sake of simplicity:
rim=20 lbs, tire=20 =40 overall
new rim= 17 lbs, new tire=25 lbs =42 overall
ya, it's a delicate balance...you need to make sure you get high quality tires, but if it comes down to a comparison between similar tires, take the one that weighs less...
our OEM weights are: 24lb rims + 24lb tires.
freakin lead wheels...(yupnope)
i believe tire rack has weights on it
Wow for tires!? I have never noticed that before. *logs on to tirerack*
