2013~2016 Light or not?

Does anyone know if there should be any light/illumination in the are that show your gear, next to the gear shifter, P, R, N, D etc.?
Even in dark conditions there are no light in my car, which make it a bit hard to know where you are if you don't look in the cluster. I feel there should be some light in the place seen in the picture.

Mine is a 6MT, so I go by feel.

I did replace one of the maplights with a red LED, which is great for very low level illumination.

The dash has your gear selection. Is there some reason you can't use that?
Yes as I said, I can see it in the cluster, But since it is there next to the shifter to be seen in day light I found it naturally to be illuminated. When it is really cold and dark, the cluster is lagging (some seconds) and it is a bit hard to see where the shifter is, no biggie, more so I don't have a broken bulb and it is supposed to be visible in the dark.

Yes that could be something, I guess you need to push it ON each time?
I had a Prius a few years ago, that had a LED that made the gear shifter easy visible in a nice light from above.

Go by the feel is definitely possible for me too, the thing is the CX-5 is just an extra car, seldom in use, so the "feel" is quite off😇
