Liftgate extension struts?

2011 CX-9 Sport AWD
New owner of a 2011 CX-9 sport AWD - other than having the front rotors replaced at 250 miles, so far so good....(scratch)

I searched on the forums here but couldn't find anything on the subject - has anyone retro-fitted their liftgate struts so the the liftgate would raise higher? If so, can you post replacement p/n's etc? I would assume to keep the same mounts, you would need to go with some sort of double extension rod strut...?

At 6' 2", I find myself ducking a little everytime to access the cargo area. What a PIA... especially after having an FJ Cruiser with entire door swinging out...

TIA.... look forward to spending more time here....

Hah, I'm 6'1" and have hit my head a couple times. Due to all the crap in my garage, I have about 6 inches of front/rear wiggle room to park, and right where the 9 sits gives the liftgate less than 1/2 inch when it is open, from hitting the garage door, when the garage door is open. Literally, I can't fit my finger between the open liftgate and the garage door! So I wouldn't even consider it due to this. I'm going to get a bike tray for the rack at some point, and I'm thinking that the tray may hit the garage door when driving in. No good. I was with my brother-in-law in his GTI when he pulled into a garage with his bike still on the top. Did some major damage to the roof of the car, and to the bike!

6.1 here, and I've hit my head more than i would care to share. Not sure if the reward would be worth time or $, but it would be nice to see if anyone figures this one out.
