Speaking of bigass rotors, have you seen the ones Brian (I think) MP5T has on his car? Fricking huge!

Yeah, Larry. Brians rotors are small planets. They kicked out Pluto and added his front rotor.

Here's a thread for Speed6 brakes on an MSP.

Reading that thread looks like Speed6 calipers are pretty rare and expensive. Doesn't seem like it's worth the swap for the money, especially since most cats just want bigger rotors for looks.

But with everyone upgrading to Mazda6 calipers/rotors I bet MSP brake setup prices will drop. Muhaha...

From RockAuto.com
All these calipers are the same on these models.
FORD FUSION (2006 - 2011)
LINCOLN MKZ (2007 - 2011)
LINCOLN ZEPHYR 2006
MAZDA 6 (2006 - 2011)
MERCURY MILAN (2006 - 2011)

Just sharing info. :)

food for thought.... why not mz3 brakes?

from a mz6 forum
03-05 Mazda 6 => 11.1" front 11" rear => Fits no problem with a 16" wheel
06-07 Mazda 6 => 11.8" front 11" rear => Fits no problem with a 16" wheel

from the mz3 forum
04+ mazda 3s => 11.8" front and 11" rear rotors for the 3s - i can confirm you can fit 16" dependent on the offset

might be able to track down 3s stuff easier/cheaper than 6 stuff with IMO a better aftermarket for pads/rotors etc etc

Interesting, and I agree with you, good sir. Thanks for sharing the info! Forza tonight? ;)

i should be on around 8, at the office still then i need my date with the gym and then should be home to shower and be on after that

The Mazda3 brakes don't work. They are shared with Volvo (S30 iirc.) Anyway, the offset on the rotors is wrong for the Protege and I don't think the calipers bolt up either.

Again, very good to know. Thanks, man!

I modded the Milly today. Cres would probably get a kick out of this. Since I'm an old man and drive an old man car... My mum got this for me when she was in Hawaii. heh-heh

And post is gone! No one is getting Evan's rotors. Mwahahahaha.

DBA has their new Tslot rotors. I seen them at SEMA this past year. They look good.

Features :
* Patented 'Kangaroo Paw' ventilation design* provides greater heat dissipation
* XG150 High Carbon Alloyed Iron increases the thermal capacity properties of the rotor over the T2 material
* Tri-Symmetrical T3 Slot design dampens the vibration harmonics resulting in a quieter responsive and a further improvement of brake pedal feel when compared to the T2 slot design. The T3 slots also provide rapid brake recovery after exiting water crossings.
* TSP (Thermal Stability Profiling) prolongs the service life of the rotor. This process is only applied to HEAVY DUTY T3 4X4 and CLUBSPEC rotors containing XG-150 high carbon alloyed iron
* Paint protection on non-friction areas enhances appearance

Yeah! haha

So after further review, I bought that fellows 2006 Mazda6 front calipers and rotors. He didn't know the brand of the rotors so I was looking up some StopTech rotors for the rear and they matched the pattern and color of the fronts. So I scooped them up. $330 shipped. Now I gotta find some Mazda6 rear calipers and pick up a Wilwood proportioning valve from Summit. But no rush, seeing how I don't even have a bloody car to put these parts on. haha

And I bought some roof rack filler strips. Finally. I've always wanted those for my silver P5. Slow days in the office means I have way too much free time to spend money.

Sooooooo..... Does this mean you don't want my old MS6 rotors anymore? (I can do the pads too if you want....)

Yeah, I think I'll have to pass on the Speed6 rotors, Chris. Thanks though! It just seems like the calipers are difficult to come by and I wouldn't have any cores to trade in so it would be an expensive upgrade... :(

Chris, thank you SO much for doing all that work. I feel like I should PayPal you some cash or something. Or I'll buy you lunch when Wes and I come down for the Miata. Thanks again, man! It's greatly appreciated. :)
huh?

There's a ton of info in here (boom06)

Subbed for an awesome build!

Nah, Wes was going to buy a Miata (not me) but that deal fell through.

This "hurry up and wait" business is killing me. I've been researching intercooler piping and intercoolers from Mishimoto today.

And Wes got me hip to this website. Good general info in here for us newbs. :)
