Another build thread...geez. haha Looking forward to watching the progress on this one and another vote for keeping them there wheels pink. If not I'll have to kidnapy Ricky and hand him over to my friends in Jersey who are in the waste management business. ;)

Great detail job Chris!!! I know how many miles are on the car and I was in awe!

...another build thread from this guy....jeez.

Man, you have more ambition than 90% of the people I've met in my life....the other 10% are either in prison or dead from their ambition.......

Good luck with the build though man. I'm still going to be bothering you with questions about this, that, and the other though.

I finished it up today. I'm so glad I have a PC instead of doing it all by hand.

What I did:

1. Wash
2. Claybar
3. Wash again
4. PC with a light compound
5. Glaze
6. Wax x2

The paint is slick as glass and looks like it too.

maybe we can work out a deal once i can get evan that got damn 50 dollars that is hovering over my head.

Yeah, you work on Evan's money first. But if it takes him that long to get 50$, it'll take you a while to pay off these wheels... lawl

Sub. Sell the pink wheels, then get them in 17x8, and paint pink... win.

Now that is a very nice idea.

single or twin turbos?

More is more. Tri-turbo!

Chris, thank you SO much for doing all that work. I feel like I should PayPal you some cash or something. Or I'll buy you lunch when Wes and I come down for the Miata. Thanks again, man! It's greatly appreciated. :)

This had me laughing all day at work today. It's just a hobby and I like to do everything I do well. This build will take about a year to complete. My mission is to have it tuned and ready to drive down to the Mitty in 2013 for Shalon to drive it on the parade laps. Of course, a project car is never "complete". Thanks for all the support, guys. :)

evan im gonna go out on a limb and say i will get you money this weekend. im going home for some work, and im gonna try to get you the other 50. it it isnt that youre gonna at least get 25.

boy i wish i had my job right now

I have fears about The Mitty this year and next year (and every year until Mazda is the featured Marque again). When a marque is featured, everyone comes out of the woodwork to go. Looking at the other corrals last year, they were pretty sparce. BMW had like 15 cars, the Brits combined had about 30. This year, one of the Brits is featured and I can't remember which. I guarantee they will have 200 cars, and why not... it's their turn. I don't think we'll get the turn out that everyone is expecting because simply, it's not our turn.

That being said. I want to be proved wrong, but I've seen it happen at a number of vintage festivals.

already hearing talk of a mg vs triumph thing going on this year on who can have the most cars there...I am assuming they will be counting towed in vehicles as well

They are going to dwarf our corral from last year. I've never understood our presence there. Modern Japanese cars make little sense at a vintage race car event.

/thread jack.

Evan, I drove Shae's P5 (about 30 ft). It's definitely a choice car.

sub-a-dub! i want to help out and hand you wrenches when you need them or buy some food...and of course ask a bunch of questions that will lead to me getting made fun of... :D

asking questions is how i got to know what I do.

gotta start somewhere.

The condition of the car speaks for itself. I've owned it since new, I can tell you where every mile came from. The car has NEVER been raced or even autocrossed for that matter. Im OCD about caring for it. You dont even want to know how much money Ive spent over the 8 years I've owned it on paintless dent removal (door dings) and having the paint refreshed in places. I freak out over a scratch and its in the bodyshop being buffed out.

Up until recently the car was daily driven 500-600 miles a WEEK without so much as a hiccup. I've parked it for the most part so the mileage stays down for Evan.

With everything Im giving him, hes getting one hell of a deal. I just wanted to make sure she was going to a good home. (thats why im selling her to Evan) Id rather have her crushed into an itty bitty cube than see some doucher get ahold of her.

sooooo...does that mean i cant bolt the blizzaks up and go rally it one day before he picks it up?
