That makes sense now, that doesn't seem like a very good design :S

At 6000RPM you bet there's going to be some nasty forces on that thing, especially if it isn't perfectly balanced.

Yeah, that why I was a little nervous about the welds being on the plate. And I don't know why everyone uses the same bad design... Boo.

why not buy an OBX for liek $70, same design including the crappy screw setup, i doubt the one RR sells is any better than that one.

Truth. I have to do more research on them. I won't be buying one for a couple months anyway. I need to stop buying crap for the P6 and focus on saving for the Milly motor.

You selling this one, now? Did the screws fall off, or did they snap off?
Nah, I wouldn't feel right selling it. You can have it if you want, Wes. Two of the screws snapped off at the heads, the other two are just chilling loosely in there. If you want to pull the screws out and weld the plate on, be my guest. :)

Oh, and I don't know if I mentioned it a few weeks ago or not, but I pulled 1/2 quart of the Redline 75w90 out of the tranny and replaced it with the 1/2 quart of GM Synchromesh Peaches had left over. That stuff actually works! I was getting a "chink" when hard shifting into 3rd but since the Synchromesh it's all gravy now. (2thumbs)

DaveB's friend, Truc, took some great pics of some Team Ohio members on our parade lap last weekend at Mid-Ohio. Thanks again, buddy!

Yes pwease! I have a semi ghetto way in mind to check if it's balanced. I can get that stuff you've got for my swap whenever, just lemme know a day or two in advance so I can run to the bank. :)

What did we say for the harness(es)? $40? You can come over anytime. Peaches is wrenching tomorrow before the Senna meet if you want to come over.

I think you said 150 first, but then you said 40. :D I can't remember if there was anything else you were trying to clear out that was extra. What time are you rolling out for the Senna meet?

Hey Lewis...

Just wanted to check to see how the Mid-Ohio meet went? I was on my way out to OH from IL on Friday and happened to see a lot of Mazda's on the road, some driven, others on trailers. I really tried to convince the gf to let me detour up that way as the wedding wasnt till Saturday, but you know women and weddings haha.
Definitely next time though.

Oh and by the way, I think that I may have found the P5 Ive been looking for. 2003 with only 78k on the motor and he is asking $5500 :)

That sounds like a great deal. Just check the rear quarter panels for rust. And no worries about Mid-Ohio, I totally understand. Dames and weddings, heh-heh. :)

hrmm my car will be for sale at the end of next summer for 3500 and it will only have one winter and 15K on the motor. LOL

Oryly? I wish I had the room for more cars. I want a fleet of P5's. Haha

I finally remembered to take a pic of my dyno graph from Mid-Ohio. :)

Huh, I would have expected a flatter curve than that. Maybe your combination of mods is sub-optimal? I wonder what the guys on PT would say, I haven't seen a lot of graphs for KL's.

Yeah. And I'm not running all 4 O2 sensors like I should. The rear bank, post O2 sensor has a sheared wire so I'm ordering a new one next week then will install the other 2 post-cat O2 sensors in the headers. I'm sure that will help things a lot.

Those are solid numbers for a curve neck car with only simple bolt-ons..I forget, do you have ZE cams? Wtq is a little on the low side, but not bad..are both of your VRIS working?

No ZE cams, yet. heh-heh. But just the normal DE cams and pistons. I'm pretty sure my VRIS is working, I can hear the difference around 4.2k rpm when the first one opens. But maybe the second solenoid isn't opening? Thus the drop in torque at higher RPM?

Torque typically drops off at higher RPM anyway. The horsepower curve goes up, and crosses the torque curve at 5250 RPM, and torque will typically start to drop after that.

I see..those are healthy numbers. I think I made just shy of 180whp with the same setup, but the addition of MS1 and 10:1 pistons, but on DE heads/IM. So i would say that is a healthy motor for sure!
