Yup. That's Kevin (damn, I can't remember everyones forum name...). It's got a lot of mods. He's got a stock MSM too.

Marlon, like I said this weekend, Josh is a good dude and does really good work. You know I don't let just anyone touch my P5 and he's had his grubby mitts all over her. haha. He'll do a god job, no worries.

Wow the P5 looks really good man. Is she running smoothly now, or do you still have a few things to button up before full use?

I think I've only met Josh once at that last cookout. He seemed pretty nice. I think he came with a friend that had a silver 6 wagon?

Well it was a semi-busy weekend. Just working some bugs out of the car. The biggest bug was my 1500rpm idle. That was annoying as s***. I adjusted the idle screw all the way down (it was around 2k rpm). So I cut down the spacer in the throttle linkage and that didn't help. I adjusted the throttle cable at the TB and that didn't help. Then I found a little allen bolt and nut that needed to be backed off so the TB butterfly would close completely. Aww yeah. Worked like a charm. Nice smooth idle at 700 rpm and not really much vibration from the AWR motor mounts. Gotta love the V6.

I went to Josh's house then shop for some welding on the exhaust. He got the tubing all welding up and used the old Corksport hangers, with some heating and bending, welding up. It sounds much better now and doesn't drone at all on the highway which I am THRILLED about. My old FS-DE setup droned like crazy.

What do you think about those welds, Josh? Yeah, I thought so. So silly. He welded the exhaust tubing together but the very top so I put the clamp back on and it sealed it up.

Poll time: Rice or Nice? I got it from Amazon and it works pretty well. I like it.

I finally got to clearcoat my DGM hood this weekend. The first round was a freaking disaster. haha. Clearcoating is farking hard! It was all streaky and uneven. So I picked up some 1000 grit sandpaper and wet sanded it and it just looked worse. So I cleaned everything and sprayed it again. I still don't have the perfect spray mixture down but it came out much better. Good enough for this year. I'm sure I'll need to redo it all next year. The clearcoat has some tight orange peel to it. And I just put the hood on today. I've always loved CF bits on cars and especially on o0n8's (Nate from Columbus' silver MSP) car. But too me it looks a little too "Hey look at me!" so I might paint it silver in the fall when the stock hood goes back on for the winter.

And a pic of the engine bay. I still need to wire up my oil pressure guage and HID's.

I'm jealous.

Wes, I just ground down that one bolt head (after I tightened it down securely) and the strut bar fit better.

Evan, thanks mang. She's been running pretty well, though still pig rich. My rear 2nd O2 sensor had a knicked wire I couldn't solder so it needs to be replaced. Then the ECU should run better. I'm going to try to swap the disty to the JDM one and try the JDM KLK1 ECU tomorrow. As of now, the JDM ECU won't let the car fire up.

az, I was replacing the battery terminals anyway so I went with the ricer one. It was an easy way for me to wire in all the extra components and see that the alternator was charging when running. I'm sure the LED's will crap out eventually though. haha

The tranny loosened up a lot and is much easier to shift now. I was worried for a while there. Maybe just junk was caked onto the gears from the tranny for sitting so long. I'm going to flush all the fluids soon.

Thanks for all the compliments, guys. I hope the new pics aren't making me come accross as and attention *****...

I don't think there are ENOUGH pics in this thread!! This isn't something that's very popular, so I'm sure there are tons of people who would benefit from seeing as many pics of the swap as possible.

And, this isn't my thread, but thanks for the kind words too! I'm ready for you guys whenever you are. Got a little bit done on the Firebird tonight, and it felt awesome to be doing body work at home again!

Thanks Josh, I will join Evan when comes by and we can make arrangements. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise, I know all of the NE Ohio members appreciate it!

Nice work Lewis. Y did you keep the timing covers? Also did you put it a manual timing tensioner?

Sean, I'll try to take some video tomorrow. My phone does a decent job mounted to the windshield. I'll just do some legal onramp things.

Jon, I kept the timing covers to keep the pulleys clean since it's my DD. And I still have the hydraulic timing tensioner. I didn't know about that mod until after the fact. But Josh welded up my UR underdrive crank pulley screws so I'll swap that in next month and swap out the tensioner. Thanks for reminding me. ;)

Idk about the whole manual tensioner. its a good idea since it wont wear out, but will need to be adjusted at times, which requires constant monitoring. The hydraulic tensioner is known to fail, but if its a new OEM one it will last must longer than the first time you will have to adjust the manual one. The hydraulic one isnt hard to replace either, it can be done fairly easy by tightening the allen bolt that the tensioner pulley mounts with so it cant slip back and then install the new tensioner. Just my 2 cents, manual is great if you dont mind having it in the back of your mind, and the hydraulic one will give plenty of warning before failing enough to jump teeth. Of course if you run stiffer valve springs you may want a manual tensioner tho.i

If you had the same network I have at work, you'd be thankful things load as they do with 10 / page...

I was about to revoke a man card from you, but I will allow this to pass without punishment. I only recently got spanking new Core 2 Duo systems for my department..but since the network is from 1972 and the applications are java with DB's in NJ, you can extrapolate how quickly work gets done.
