What is it?
i read it in a couple of threads, how does it work?
Someone said something about the same issue coming up 3 times without resolution. Is this a 'REAL' law? federal law or state law?
I have not had any problem with my 3 (knock on wood), but its good to know cause i know many owners of POSs ( i used to be one of them).

Lemon laws vary by state. Usually, if a major component fails 3 times in a certain amount of time, it's considered a lemon and you get your money back.

Or if the car goes through the shop for major component repairs like , electircal systems, ac, brakes, trany, they have to give you a whole new car. Happened to a buddy of mine.

For real. He had his tranny repaired twice, then replaced twice. Problem wouldnt fix. They replaced his wiring harness, his alternator and ignition 2 times a piece also. Problem didnt fix. They gave him another Cavalier. Problem fixed.

The car wasn't replaced because he had a major system issue, it was replaced because he had the same issue repaired four times. That's one thing that invokes the lemon law.

he should not have received anything back. His fault for buying a bad car.

yep every now and then a few cars slip thru QC.....majority of the things that are wrong are 1st year productions...but yeah major stuff usually sens a red flag...unless it's a focus..they get like 4 recall notices every year for something...
