Well as some of you know, i'm new tot he mazda protege. I just picked mine up last night, and of course, it didn't come with the manual.

And driving home tonight there is two buttons on the rear view mirror.. One changes the temp from celcius to ferenheight or turns the display off, and the left buttons turns on and off a green light..

What is that green light for, or mean?

most likely and auto tint feature, so that drivers behind you don't blind you with their headlights.

I dont know cause i dont' have those buttons, just what other cars have.

What, the little cartoon one on the bottom....

Yes...

sweet man. .wel the vid answered my question... Your lights are HID. I want to do a headlight upgrade. But not sure what I want to do.. I just want super bright! Is HID the way to go, or is there a bulb I can get? Streetglow super whites are garbage, i will never buy em again.. HAs anyone had luck with the HID bulb thjat you can just plug in, instead of buying the set up?

use sylvania silver stars if you don't want to re-wire for HIDs.

There is no HID you just plug in to the stock wiring.

xenonexpert.com
they sell HID kits. damn good ones too. use the search feature, youll find some helpful information

They're fake. Real HID kits need a ballast to achieve the high voltage they need to ignite. They're also always at least 200 dollars :)

I say stick to the stock bulbs or upgrade to HIDs. IF you really want to, you can pick up Osram Silverstars (NOT sylvanias) from www.powerbulbs.co.uk (they aren't sold in the U.S., you have to import)

Word. Osrams also available through http://www.danielsternlighting.com/. This site is worth checking out before you do your lighting upgrade.

oh. i know.. but like i said, i'm looking for brighter, not the best. i was just wondering if anyone had experience with them. HID kit i was looking at was around 265..

The bulbs you linked to aren't worth a penny. They will be MUCh dimmer than your stock bulbs unless they are overwattage, in which case they'll melt the factory wiring harness. They are just bulbs painted blue.

Stick to the osram silverstars (again, not sylvania) and save up for HIDs if you aren't satisfied with those.

Bulb rule of thumb: if it's blue, it's probably gheetttoooo

nice.. yeah, like i said, street glow is garbage.. look nice and super white.. but do nothing for you to see...
