Leather stitching coming apart (pic)

My car is now six weeks old and I noticed today that the leather stitching is starting to come apart in one area (see pic). I just had my car in the dealer to replace the CD changer...now this. What a pain in the ass. (argh) Anyways, I am too busy to go back for a while so I will probably get them to repair it on my next oil change. I am wondering if any of you know what their procedure will be to fix it? Is this a common problem with Mazda leather? I don't think mechanics make good seamstresses. Do they just replace the whole seat?

i would think they would just order new leather. as for this being a problem with mazda leather, i don't know, i have aftermarket :p.

I took my car back to the dealer today and they ordered me a new driver's seat. They said it would take about two weeks to arrive....a hassel but problem solved.

Yeah - seen issues with cloth seats fraying (but MAN they're grippy cloth seats!). Leather seems to have held up well - including quality/conditioning etc.

lightning strike - reducing the odds of a repeat ;)

....so I am still waiting for this seat to come in. The gap where the stitching has come apart is now much bigger than the picture I took over a month ago below. I called them today and they said the seats are "backordered". Furthermore, I also had my cd changer replaced and they still have not returned my cd's to me from the plant. They said they would look into it. I'm kinda starting to get annoyed. It's been a while on both of these issues and the car is brand new (this spring). Just felt like ranting a bit!

Man makes me wanna go check my seats now sorry to hear about your delays I know someone who had to have their CD replaced in thier rodeo and I dont think we ever got our cds back but stay on them about it we just didnt because it wa slike 2 burnt cds lol

I been to the dealership alot and last visit took 6 hrs out of my life...next time I'll wait till the car is arould a lil bit longer. as for now..I'll just pull everything and go in for warrenty work as usual...
