Just got my new 2011 CX 9 Touring with leather seats a few weeks ago. My past experience with leather seats are that after a few years they crack, and get worn looking. What are the best products to preserve the looks and integrity of leather seats. How often should I treat them? Thanks.

I've always used Lexol Cleaner and Conditioner which you can pick up at any auto supply store. The conditioner is key as it provides natural oils that leather needs to keep from cracking. The minimum I would would apply them would be once a year. Once a season can't hurt especially if you have the ivory color leather like I do. Dirt always come off easier if you condition your leather at regular intervals. I believe McGuires makes a leather wipe that you can keep close to you to do spot cleaning.

I would not use the meguiars wipe : they tend to make the leather look too much shiny and greasy. I am a nerd when it comes to car detailing and I am so far extremely happy with Lexol as a cleaner and Zaino Z10 (leather in a bottle) for the protection.

I have never experienced cracking after a few years, that is not normal. Mild creasing will appear after several years, but if taken care of, should not actually crack or split or have separating seams for 8-10 years. I use Armor All Leather Cleaner.
