can anybody give me suggestions on improvement for my camera work? I just like to take pics of misc. parts of cars - i like the chrome here.

I took the following picture with my Panasonic DMC FZ15K. It's a buddy's 300C. The pic was taken with the Manual Focus turned on on the camera, at roughly 9pm (full dusk - almost no sun left)

take note.. this is with JPG compression. I have it in no compression PNG format, too.. but I don't use the RAW feature on my camera - so the pics are compressed right off the bat... i used Ultra high detail @ 1600x1200 on my camera.

I like it...but most photographers try to adhere to the 3rds rule. You should be able to break the photo up into 3rds. With your photo you need a little more space on the right.

Try to take the sexiest pics of boring stuff. I like taking pics of stuff like my MP3 player and model cars. Do this in one of your camera's manual modes, eventually using full manual for set-up shots.

i cropped the pic, so i dunno if that makes a diff.
I don't really understand what you mean by 3rds?... is there a pic that shows it - i'm still really new to photography :(

yeah.. my camera does that too.. most likely just cuz i cropped the pic tha it's off.. i suppose i should take the shot i want and not crop the pic after the fact.

i started fooling around recently with my 7.1mp camera.

1) does yuor camera shoot raw?
2) a lot of the nice photos are edited in photoshop afterwards

gimme a good pic of your car (not just the door) and ill see how much different i can make it

i will take a pic of my car in the next couple days. i'm going to detail it, big time :)
my camera does shoot in RAW, although it's a feature i rarely use due to the sheer size of pictures... 1GB = ~90pics (i think)

i dunno i just picked up a 512mb for like 40 bucks and i think it holds 68...cant remember. anyhow...

ill beout of town this week but when i get back ill fix it up
