well i came out to my car and noticed oil on the ground, so i look under and the bottom of my engine where the belts are is covered in oil. It was all over the frame and suspension.

So i go check my dip stick and theres no oil in the engine

so i call the dealer, and after alot of bitching, they towed it in for me

now at the dealer, they put dye in the engine, and ran it, and no oil was leaking, so they filled it up with oil and told me to drive it around, and if it happens again, to bring it back in

btw, they called mazda canada, and they said they never heard of a problem like this

so now its been 2 days, and there hasent been any oil leaking out

this happen to anyone else?

oh yah, i was gonna go for an oil change this week, but then this happened

That wouldn't have gotten it all over the bottom of the car.

I would suspect a cracked oil filter housing or a bad o-ring. Possibly a leaking oil pressure sending unit or a bad gasket between the filter housing and engine block. If anything other than that, it's probably more serious that you could diagnose in your driveway.

I would remove the splash shield and power wash the bottom of the car immediately so the oil doesn't start eating into the rubber components. After that, leave the splash shield off and check the oil every time you park the car. If it's ever low, stick your head under there and see if you can tell where it's escaping.

Good luck!

You might want to check the motor mounts. It happened to me. Blown motor mount and oil all over the place. It is possible.

hope it helps,

good luck,

i doubt it b/c he siad his dipstick showed no oil... good luck man, did you drive it hard before you came home that day? i would think leaky/bad filter housing b/c if its all over the engine bay then its not just a drip, it had to be under pressure and spray everywhere.... hopefully its nothing worse then that...

well to update everyone

the dealer took off the splash plate

and the car has not leaked any oil since

i donno

im confused

Perhaps some punk played a trick on you and emptied your oil on the driveway...and put it all over the place by hand...
