I drive an 08 speed3, not a fan of launching it so i hadn't done so since i first got the car but i'm hitting the track this friday so decided to try it out, reved it up to 2500 and then droped the clutch and floored it, i didnt hook until 3rd gear -.- just peeled out all 1st and 2nd.
Any advise on how to better launch this car?

Thats pretty much going to be the result. I would assume you had the tsc off. Last time i launched at 2500 when i dumped the clutch i didnt just rip through the tires, i feathered it a bit so it could hook up a little (not that first gear really hooks up). Once i shifted into 2nd i was good. What mods do you have?

Launch method looks fine, were the tires cold when you tried this? I'd run them for awhile before and try again and see if warming up the tires improves traction.

You need to drive these cars out, not dump the clutch, you need to practice slipping the clutch a little and adjusting gas peddle as you leave the line, if your going for best ET it will be inconsistant, if you are going for consistancy just work on the tree and leave like you were aggressivly leaving from a stoplight with a cop nearby!

I was told to feather it from 4500. Which, sounds kinda tough given the hp and especially the tq these vehicles make. How the hell am I supposed to get 235's to grip?

You want advise? Practice, practice, practice. Practice, practice, practice. Practice, practice, practice. Practice, practice, practice. Practice, practice, practice. Practice, practice, practice. Thanks for the advise guys, I did it earlier and it hooked of the line, ill see how it goes tomorrow on the track, I don't want to practice so much cause I baby my car lol
As for mod just a Cobb sri and resonators delete which isint much of a mod

On friday ill be going against my friends 03 gt with full exhaust, cams, intake and not sure if he has anything else

03 gt what, mustang? So what did you do different to get it to launch the next time you tried it?

Yea Mustang, I did they same thing but I guess the tires were alot warmer since I did it in the middle of the day in the Miami sun this time, previous time was at night, not sure if it makes a difference

Roll her out of there. Keep tire spin to a minimum. Flatshift 2-3 and 3-4 and into 5th. Shift early, not late. Shift at 5,500, no later than 5,800. Don't look at your buddy. He's gonna hook way better and will pull big time on you out of the hole. Just focus on not losing traction and on making the shifts. If he's not modded too much, you'll start closing the gap after you get into third and then could beat him if you have more power and cut a good light.

I'm no expert on launching. On good sticky tires I could only get 2.2 60 ft's but trap 106-107 with 13.4 ET. This car is a b**** to launch on street rubber and FWD is fail at launch anyway.

Thanks for the tips, problem is we're only running an 1/8 -.-
Im just going to have some fun win or lose

They asked to see oil change records so I showed them two latest ones that was changed with 5W-30. They said they will start with "a kit change" first and see if it fixes it. I assume that's the ventilation kit. If that doesn't fix it, they will go the turbo replacement route. We'll see...
