"Laser Shield" Plate covers?

Yea, it does sound too good to be true. The idea sounds correct though...it shouldn't reflect the laser...

Yeah I guess it does sound correct.
Why dont you be the 'guinea pig' and let us know if it works(naughty) .

Yea, I may; however, I wont know if it works......I will never actually find out if it's doing its job or not.

The idea is good and true as long as the laser hits the cover....They claim that the license plate is the preffered target, but that's only because if the cop misses, there's car on every side of it....he's just aiming for the middle of the car. I don't think I would buy it.

Yea, and from what I understand, the radar is wider than the liscense plate. I dont think I'll get it. If anyboidy else wants it, feel free to get it, it may work, but I think my passport 8500 x50 should be good enough for most speedtraps, and I'll be screwed with laser pretty much no matter what when I encounter it.

unless you get a laser jammer. there was one rated with 99% accuracy I think (can't think of the site right now). My friend has the Bel LaserPro and it works well, he hasn't gotten caught.

or you could just not drive like a maniac and obey the driving laws......wait, what am i saying?

Speed traps are still teh major gay. I usually drive 10 over (You callin me a maniac?). if its a 40, im doin 50 and suddenly it drops to 30, im mad pwned.

everyone speeds just accept it, and cops are assholes nowadays they will bust you if you look at them wrong

My brother in law was a cop for a while. He said there wasn't an official quota for his town but they had a target of 2-3 tickets per day just so the watch commander knew they were doing something besides sitting in a parking lot napping, which is a valid point I guess. And if anyone often missed the monthly target it affected their performance reviews, etc. So if he had a busy week with accidents or other duties, he ended up looking for any little thing the other days just to keep up.

laser jammers actually send out two signals that are picked up by the gun; a speed reading of 0 and a reading of (i think) 200. these two signals, combined with the actual reading, actually confuses the gun, and no speed is displayed on the gun. please, someone correct me if im wrong. btw, ive heard great things about the beltronics unit.

arent radar jammers illegal?

Is there any way for the cop to prove that you are using one...say you get pulled over because his gun messed up when he tried to tag you and you hide it...

Radar jammers are illegal, laser jammers are not. A radar jammer actually could be hidden from what I've seen, but the issue is that it would be a high powered radar transmitter sitting in your car broadcasting on the three police radar spectrums disrupting those spectrums.

...a laser jammer is far simpler. yes, it will confuse his gun, so he will most likely realize that you have a laser jammer (especially if he then sees you speed past in a nice car. He'll probably follow you, and pull you over anyways and say "haha your laser jammer didn't work" and then make a guess at your speed. Hell, it can be raining out (hard for laser to work) and he can pull you over and say you were going a speed that you know you weren't going and slap a 279 dollar ticket in your face and there isn't much you can do, remember kids cops are above the law.

i dunno where you live, but around here anything that even partially obscures the license plate (like tinted covers) are just as illegal. i had one for like two weeks and i got pulled over like 3 times, fortunately with no tickets.

kind of hard to hide it, its built into a licence plate cover.... that'd be funny to see tho.
Im talking about an electronic jammer, not this license plate thing.

Yes, that's true here too, its illegal but i dont think cops pull over for it much, unless it obcscures the license plate...like tinted, faded, or hazy ones that are easily noticed.

Well I plan on getting a V1, so that should take care of radar.

And laser jammers are seriously legal? I may have to check my local laws on that one.

Oh yeah, and the cop cant do that. Ive been pulled over a couple times. I asked to see the gun one time cuz I didnt think I was goin as fast as I was...
You CAN ask to see the gun and they have to show you ya know. Anyways, the cop told me the gun messed up and the reading was lost...I let him know I knew the laws...I got off with no warning, ticket, etc...
