Largest tires on 1999 Protege

For the last year my old Protege has been reduced to spare vehicle/ back roads buggy. My problem is that the exhaust has been taking a beating due to lack of ground clearance. I'm running 185/65R14 tires on it right now. What is the biggest tire anyone has run without rubbing when turning?

While larger tires may raise the car a little, the top of those tires may hit suspension , steering and other pieces.

I know I probably can't go much larger, but It's going to need tires soon and I want to get every bit of ground clearance I can without rubbing.

Spacers and Stud extenders? (scratch) Something like this but for all 4 wheels?

I'm not sure what the spacing is between bolts for the tophats of our struts, but....hmmm
