largest object in trunk/hatch?

I recently purchased a brand new 27" Sony WEGA TV, and the whole box fit in the back (with the seats folded down).

barely made it in...I had two inches to spare on top.

anyone fit anything else that large?

that comment about the RCA TV is about funny as hell because I used to sell TV's a long time ago. The biggest thing I have fit in the back was a Air Compressor with 25 gallon tank. Seats were still up but the hatch cover was removed. With the Seats down I was able to fit 12 boxes of paper in my car. Those are the 8.5x11 sheets. Each box weighed 75 lbs. All I have to say is my car looked sweet slammed like that. Gotta get springs now so I can be slammed all the time.

I put a Futon in the back of mine... Everything in the back was folded down, and the front seats were scooted pretty far forward... (Not cool when you are 6'4" like me.) The futon was still in the box, and it was a really tight fit to get the box in there... So tight in fact, that when I unloaded the damn thing, I cut it out of the box and brought it out one peice at a time.

A 7-cu. ft. chest freezer, in the box. It was about the largest thing square that could fit through the rear hatch. I tell this story to anyone who doubts the cargo-carrying capacity of the P5.

super large capacity Washer in my MP5

this fit beautifly in it with no problems take a look ...... well s*** this damn website is still f*kin broken so i cant upload it but anyway I got a pict of it ..also i fit a full size walk behind blower in the back but had to remove the handle bars also my buddy tom is crippled and he is in a sport chair (i peice chair with suspension and angled wheels and that fit in perfect too

im glad you mentioned the futon fastdrvr23 cause i am buying a futon and it looked pretty big to fit on the car, I dont have the balls to hog tie it to the roof rack...it being so heavy

lofl dino.....

Ive fit up to three 7 year old girls in my trunk.there is a ballet class going on tonight so I might swing by and try for 4..I'll let yall know how it does

the largest thing i had in there was my futon cushion folded in half...about the size of the TV's you all had stored back there but at least it was softer and more flexible.

i also need a cargo net. I had a basketball rolling around in the back making all sorts of weird noises while driving =P

27" TV here too, w/ box. Fit like a glove. Ugh, now I *litterally* have no trunk due to all my audio set-up (whole false floor w/ neons in rear). I'm already starting to regret not having a trunk. I might have to tear it apart and have the system set-up re-done. Something a bit less flashy yet more efficient. I hate going shopping and having to leave the bags exposed in the back seat.

Yeah, it took me a while to wedge it in there, but it fit...
It was still in the box, so if all else fails, you could take it out of the box and pile all the pieces in the back. I thought about the top of the car too, but the damn futon weighed about 100lbs or so, too heavy for up there I thought... Anyways, good luck!

i fit 4 people, 2 pairs of skis, 3 snowboards, 5 pairs of boots and all the other equip with plenty of room to spare. (1 side folded down)

really want a snowboard rack though, it was damn cramped for the people in the back.

I had a 32" Sony Wega tv w/o the box of course. That damn thing was heavy like hell. I didn't need to fold the seat down and I had it faced backwards. I actually parked it by my garage, plugged it into the a/c outlet and watched my flat screen tv, in the hatch, on my driveway. Now that's a Tailgate party baby!!! Too bad we don't have an A/C outlet like the Matrix, then I can drive down the freeway with the hatch open, playing the "Zoom-Zoom" commercial in front of all those ugly Matrix's.

I haven't had to put a large tv in my pro5 yet, but I can agree with WaatDaHell with how heavy those Sony Wega TVs are. We have a 36" and that's gotta be the most awkward heaviest thing I have ever lifted. When we were loading it into a pickup truck at Best Buy the guy helping us told us it was the heaviest TV Best Buy sells.

As for bulky items in my P5. I have a mobile recording business and I have fit my complete set-up with several hundred pounds of gear in :D Lots of big and awkwardly shaped things and it fits nicely. I love my custom sub enclosure that leaves so much usable space.

i put four dead bodies, four tarps, two showels, pair of hiking boots, and a flashlight.... I think i had room for one more dead body.. he he he j/k
