Largest air filter for MS6 Cobb SRI

I was thinking about replacing my stock COBB SRI air filter with an Amsoil Ea filter. When I upgrade I would also like to go to a larger air filter. What is the max size (length and diameter) that you were able to fit with any obstructions? Let me know. Thanks!

Sorry if this is a stupid question..But what is the black pipe for?..What is it connected to and what does it do?..thanks

i think your referring to black pipe that goes across the engine? that is one of the front intercooler pipes.

I've noticed during heavy rainfalls that the intake must be sucking up rain water off the road as during launches/hard acceleration, the car stutters or almost dies. Doesn't feel pleasant at all.

As I can see, the SRI will take the filter away from the depths of the wheel well and potentially solve one of my issues.

Log your Fuel pressure to make sure you aren't getting fuel cut. It's a known issue with the car and sounds very similar to the issue you are having. As for the larger filter for your intake spend the money on an air box for your SRI you will reap more gains from lower IAT's than you will with the minimal gains of a larger filter(if any at all). Your intake piping will only allow a certain volume of air through it, and one of these days I'll get off my ass and calculate what that is to determine the optimal filter size for my car. Though lowering your IAT's will have a direct impact on your car and it's performance.

zoomzoom, you car looks freakin awesome by the way. the fmic fittment is just beautiful. i've got questions for but i'll look for a thread, as i'd assume you started one to show that thing off.

anyway, i'm was thinking same thing about the filter. mines due for replace ment. i'm wondering just how much bigger that amsoil one is compared to the cobb unit.
obviously its just longer. but by how much?

i have that same amsoil filter as well. i believe its about 2" or so longer.

edit: i saw this in the related posts, it shows the difference between ms3 and amsoil, maybe thats why I think its bigger cause I had the ms3 one.

i've had both. the ms3 one is much smaller than the ms6 one. there's still space for a bigger one though.
