Ladies and Gentlemen...My exhaust

what did you do to it?
it has a whole lot of rasp and pop (not my cup of tea)

and are your wheels black or graphite?

The trees in the background look more stressed than the engine sounded......not sure what that even means, lol. I am not against having a bit of rasp in my cup of tea when gurgling with it. Mine is lower sonic wave kinda tone but I has da Magnaflow hi-flo cat, a resonator & Magnaflow street series 5x8 oval muffler. My Magnaflow race series muffler sounded allllmost kinda like yours. Liked it but it scraped the ground on s*** here and there because it was round and the car is lowered so I went with the oval one. It's a bit more refined and just flat enough not to scrape on anything. It's yours, if you like it rock it & if not, tweak it.

At least I know my P5 isn't the only one that sounds like a diesel at idle. If you could find a way to get rid of the tinny sound, it's almost like something is rattling. But of course the most important thing is that you like it.

I painted my wheels a dark grey metallic. They are dirty so it looks graphite. The metallic shows in the sunlight. As far has the crackle/gurgle, this problem started two or three days ago. My engine is hesitating in the lower rpms when I get on it a bit. The issue subsides after a second or two but I'm taking a look at it this weekend. Maybe a misfire...new plugs? Who knows, I'll figure it out.

As far as the rasp and such, I'll upgrade to a highflow cat when I get some headers.

Here is a glimpse of metallic on my center caps

I got the flowmaster renegade. It looks like this but came flat black

Sounds almost like mine but i have less rasp cuz i have one cat still. Ive had a couple people say it sounds like a subie. I wouldnt know cuz ive never had anyone do a drive by for me so i could hear it in action.. I doubt it.

I run seafoam in my crank case... It appears to let more oil up into the lifters and i sound less like a Jetta TDI. Also had good luck with Valve Medic made by Gunk i think. Doesnt seem to last as long as seafoam.

I might have to give that a try, I think I have a bottle of seafoam in the garage.

I run the usual seafoam treatment every 6 months. That stuff is miracle water. I'm thinking about throwing a cat in there now. Anyone suggest any particular brands or models?

god i hate that. you can only get 1 headER on the car, headERS imply you have more than one. and getting a header will make the current sound much louder, and more raspy. a large resonator will help, but your rasp problem lies in the flowmaster muffler. they have no sound deadening matierial in them just metal baffles to bounce sound around. works great on a burly v8, but makes 4 bangers sound like bumble bees. if the rasp is a problem for you, get a magnaflow muffler instead. otherwise as long as you are happy, have fun.

appreciate the advice. Sorry about the pluralization. It's hard to escape the area I'm from. So many things are mispronounce and the English language is so brutally butchered that it's hard not to learn from everyone around you. Someone recently suggested that I replace my muffler with a magnaflow for the exact reasons you stated. I'll experiment with my exhaust over time and find the right sound for me.

from my experience, its just adding any type of header is what causes super rasp. ive even run without resonators and its super raspy, with a small resonator its still raspy. try to get at least a 24" resonator. magnaflow 24" are great. that will surely tone down the rasp!

When originally experimenting with my exhaust, I took out the cat, put in 2.5" pipe, and changed the muffler. I didn't like the sound with the original resonator because it killed all noise except high rpms. I took the resonator out and liked it there. I need to refocus on what exact sound I want

Found out the issue which is audible in the video when I accelerate. My MAF sensor was in the process of dying and that was causing a misfire. I'll be changing it today. Possibly a new video to follow
