Lack of one touch close for the sunroof got me again

I know this is totally my fault but after having cars for the last 12 years that had a one touch sunroof close feature I have left mine open on several occasions.
It started to look like the rain the other night so I ran out and closed all the windows and I thought the sunroof.
We went out to dinner a hour later in a middle of a downpour and the interior was soaked.
Eventually I'll learn I guess.

I know what you mean.

I went out to dinner the other night and used the restroom to wash my hands. I expected the towel dispenser to be fully automatic and waived my hand in front of it but no towel came out. I ended up drying my hands on the front of my slacks and was quite embarrassed as I re-joined my party because the front of my slacks had wet handprints on them.

Come on, this was a nice restaurant and it's 2015! WTF, no auto mode on the towel dispenser! Ruined my evening.
Eventually I'll learn I guess.

In order to have one-touch close, the sunroof would have to have a sensor that detects obstructions to prevent crushed fingers, etc. Those additional mechanisms cost money, take space, add weight, and increase the complexity and cost of repairs.

I'm not saying that anyone is wrong for wanting this feature, but it was not an oversight or omission by Mazda. It was a choice.

I figured that there was more to it than just a different switch choice. Who knows maybe the lawyers even got into the act with fears of liability. It is a nice feature to have, heck I previously had a car that I could close all the windows & the sunroof just using the key FOB and another where you put the key in the door and turned it to the left to close everything.
I'll just need to be more careful.

It's actually a big peeve of mine with the cx5. I also don't understand why only the driver side window has power after the engine is off and before a door is opened. My Honda doesn't exhibit any of these and I would have preferred that the GT trim at least include this.

I also don't care for the headliner, especially the sun roof cover. Feels very cheap.

This. My Infiniti had an auto close feature. The window motor for the sunroof would detect resistance and stop.

I also feel neglected because, not only don't I have a one-touch sunroof close feature but, my toilet at home forces me to turn a handle to flush and there are auto flush toilets. :-((

do you need to hold your toilet handle, or do you push it down and let it go? Because if you don't hold it, your analogy just doesn't hold up :-((((((((

I've had auto-close on all of my cars in the last 15 years but not a big deal for me with the Mazda. One less thing to break.. IMO.
