Online the cheapest I can find are KW variant 2s for 1436.

The cheapest for the H&R coilover Kit is 1124.

I know there is someone on here with the variants, I just dont know his name.
Does anyone know how each one compares to the other? Is one ride quality better? Do you think the KWs are worth the extra 312 dollars?

You should be comparing H&R coilovers to Variant 1s. The variant 2s have adjustable rebound where the Variant 1s and H&R coils are height adjustable only. I got my variant 1s for about the same price as the H&Rs through Grip Garage. talk to them directly and see what they can do for you.

If youre in socal you should join MOCCforums.com and come to the meets. We can go for a ride and see how you like the KWs. The ride is definitely firm and is setup pretty much like the default mazdaspeed coilover setup. I think the high speed compression is a little stiff so sudden sharp edged bumps are a little noisy and jolting..
I haven't tried the H&Rs but have read great reviews about them being comfortable as long as you dont slam them. The H&Rs use progressive front springs where the KWs use linear rate springs.

Honestly, I don't really know why anyone would want to buy the KW V2s, since for about the same price you can get what is basically a KW V3 kit by buying the Mazdaspeed Coilover kit...

I know the spring rates and ride heights aren't exactly the same, but nevertheless the MS setup is a fantastic value.

the only problem with the MS coilovers from what I see, is they come with no warranty, becaues I was planning on buying a set of them until reading up on them some more. thats a expensive set for a AS-IS part. if you buy the kw's you get a lifetime warranty. correct me if I'm wrong

Yeah I don't think they have a warranty, but KW will rebuild/service the parts for a small fee if they need it.

Exactly how "inclusive" is KW's "lifetime warranty?"
