Las Vegas, NV Feb 6, 2006; Koenigsegg Automotive AB, the Swedish supercar manufacturer, of Sweden has named Exotic Cars, located in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, to be the first and only dealer in the United States for its exclusive supercars. A version of the world's fastest production car is now on display in the Exotic Cars Showroom at Caesars Las Vegas.

Koenigsegg is the manufacturer of the CCR, the fastest production car in the world, with a top speed of over 250 mph. The U.S. version, dubbed the CCX, will be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show at the beginning of March 2006. The 806 HP, 2200 pound carbon fibre supercar goes 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds, and runs the standing quarter mile in just 9 seconds at 146 mph.

"We couldn't be happier," said Richard Weisman, CEO of Exotic Cars. "In addition to being the fastest production car, it is also one of the most impressively engineered vehicles ever made."

Exotic Cars at Caesars Palace currently displays more than 40 vehicles with prices in excess of $1 million, including such exclusive lines as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bentley. Thousands of people visit the two-story, 34,000-square-foot showroom each day. Koenigsegg plans to deliver a limited number of cars during the first year, and orders are being taken on a first come, first served basis. The base price for this prestigious automobile is $650,000.

What kills me are the statistics of the thing.

806hp, 3.2 in 0-60, but 14/18 mpg. Technically that bypasses the gas guzzler tax, right?

60-0 in 102 ft (evo is at 115 or so).

4 cuft of luggage space (isn't that more than a miata?)

Leather, driver side air bag, ABS, AFC, traction control, power mirrors and door locks and windows.

What is this thing? I would take two of these over one of the Bugattis as that is the same price.

Also, it's about a second quicker in the quarter mile than the Veyron.

200 less hp than the veyron, but 1500 less lbs.

Coefficient of drag 0.07 less than the Veyron, too.

veyron was solely made to be worlds fastest car. VW took a huge hit on this just to prove they can do it. Car manufactures dont really take this task of worlds fastest car since MacClaren due to cost. I read that it costs VW something like $3million(I think, might actually be 5 but cant remember right now) to make the veyron and only did this to prove they can do it.

If I remember correctly, on top gear, they said that it costs 5 million pounds to produce each veyron. With the exchange rate of about 2 dollars to 1 pound, that's like 8.4 million dollars lost per car.

0.9 % financing this weekend only! :P

It's more quirky than cool and more functional than beautiful...but it's growing on me...I'll have to add it to the "When I win the lottery" list.

I would just get it for the fact it can go well over 200mph!
