1995 millenia,2.5: Check engine code shows knock sensor. Is this important? Engine runs great. How do I change it? Where is the best place to buy it? It is $100 at the local parts houses. Advise???

i would rate it a 8 outta 10 read up on knock sensor it control the timing of the knock when ur timing belt hits too high it knocks it back down might cause the car 2 idle up & down not 100% i have ze we almost have the same motor

it's not the same car, but the same motor: i had a knock sensor code a few months back and the thing i noticed was that at wide open throttle, the car would just stop accellerating. i read up on it at the mx6 forum and yeah the computer retards the timing at WOT when this code is set. like boahx said, it's not life or death but i'd fix it, since this is the only way the car can tell if it's damaging itself or now. before you go out and get one though, check the wire. did you take off your intake manifold lately ? it could just be a frayed wire which is a lot easier and cheaper to fix than a new sensor.
