Knock Retard?

Just wondering how much KR, if any, is acceptable/safe to have.

It's pretty much been at 0 but yesterday it went to .3 and this morning it went to 1.8, it was during a good bit of throttle while going up an on ramp.

when should one start to be concerned?

just a heads up, this computer is designed to encounter knock. when driving on the highway its typical to see up to 6*. when this happens do not let off the gas. The computer is purposely leaning out and advancing timing to the point that it experiences KR. it will count down back to 0. this is critical as the ecu is using this to "learn" the best timing. if you let up it will keep doing this in an attempt to learn the right timing. after a few times it becomes very infrequent. .3-.7 is typical and shouldnt be worried about. anything below 1.0 at WOT is ok as well.

8.5MS3 that's very interesting, thanks for that tip! i always take my foot of gas when my interceptor warns me about knock. i'll see if this method helps.

be warned this is cruising knock only. not WOT knock. the computer is trying to achieve maximum MPG.

i have my DH set up to flash yellow for 1.5 or less, and go into alarm for anything greater. if you set it to alarm you can see the values count down.

I've been too slow to catch it when it happens so I dont need to worry about letting off the gas, lol

today seems like the perfect day to take off work early and do a WOT pull or two. ... for monitoring purposes only of course ;)

Wow, i thought it was only me having these crazy 6KR counts when cruising at like 80. I would always let off the gas. It usually happens when you reach about 80 and go easier on the throttle, that's when it comes in.

Thx for that, i will try to keep on it and see if it gets better. The .3/.7 i usually get when accelerating and the ecu is changing from a g/s breakpoint to another.

Had my dashhawk for a little while now and this morning was the first time I noticed any knock. I was going up an on ramp, part throttle at about 3k rpms, not boosting, I saw knock went up to 2.0 so I let off. Thx for the info 8.5 I will keep on it next time.
