KL swap underway!

Well last night it fired up, I wasn't getting fuel so I figured out the way to jumper the relay after a little trial and error but it ran on starting fluid at least, I think I have my return and feed line mixed up though.. hopefully Sunday ill have time to mess with that. What electrical problems are you having?? I may be able to help

if you still have the msp harness amd pump in just ground the pin in the msp diagnostic box to run the fuel pump

If I do that do I still have to ground both fuel pump circuits for the computers? Do you know off hand which pin that is?

just remember if you get in a crash your pump probably isnt gonna turn off so make sure you dont break your legs cause you will probably have to run pretty quick..

i doubt you would have to do both computers. my BP harness has no connection to the fuel pump and the car runs fine.

from my understanding if you had a way to show voltage through the maf then you could rig up the stock harness properly but from my understanding unless the stock ecu sees probable data from the MAF indicating airflow it wont turn on the fuel pump other than the initial on/off when you put in the key. if someone knows better please correct me but from my experience this has been the only way to get the pump running other than putting it on a simple on/off switch which is what i ended up doing.

Haha, ill have to get my fiance to get some pics of it and put them up, I want to remove the harnesses back out and trim them down with what I don't need so it doesn't look like a mess, then we'll see bout what I can do with a video of it! Hopefully by the end of next week it'll be driving! At least long as the baby doesn't decide to come within the next few days

ya i have the same issue i hid most of the original harness under the battery tray and behind the intake manifold but with the v6 you are probably short on room to hide stuff

Yea I really am, there isn't much space left. Its gonna be tough to make it look clean. Your engine bay looked pretty good from what I rember in your build thread

ya i used several rolls of electrical tape and minimized everything the best i could. then again I am running no PS and no AC so it wasnt that hard just lots of tape.

1. ECU output to ignitor
2. ignitor to ignition coil
3. coil to distributor
4. distributor to plugs

its been a while since Ive had my MX6 but this should be right. All you need to do is see how far the signal is getting to start troubleshooting the problem.

start at the plugs and work your way back to the ecu should be the easiest way to find the issue

I was just up in long island bout two weeks ago, and I am icthing to try out my new multimeter.... ill read through them then and see if I can figure something out. I may have an idea ill check into it.. :)

really how come? you should have said something we could have met up. anyway during the summer i plan on doing a little road tripping so when i hit up pa ill let you know

My fiance's mom lives in long island in mastic I believe it is, we went up for her baby shower. I didn't realize you were in long island, let me know!

So I drove the car yesterday, after how many months it felt great! Buttt the throttle sticks and my speedometer doesn't work so I'm tracing that down now. Today I'm pulling the harnesses out and tearing them apart to combine them

i've been trying to tell him that. lol but seriously good job i bet it feels awesome
