Kind of new to this whole tuning thing...

One, it took me forever to figure out where I could post a new thread so I already feel like an idiot today. Two, I'm really set on cp-e parts. From what I've seen they are amazing pieces of engineering. So what I'm asking is if anyone on here thinks there is anything better. I know what I need for my car and I know that cp-e offers all of it. They are more expensive from what I've seen, but I would rather pay the extra if they truly have better quality parts. If you guys and gals could give me some pointers I would be grateful.

PS: I've seen some stuff talking about MrLilGuy's fuel pump. I know my car will be in desperate need of one, once I begin moding it. I also know that cp-e is developing one.

A lot of people swear by Cobb products as well. I've never tried anything from CP-E but love everything I've gotten from Cobb. Downpipe, Intake, Turbo Inlet, Access Port.

When I got my down-pipe everyone was so impressed with the build quality they were disappointed it had to go on the bottom of the car lol.

Gotcha.

I haven't looked much into COBB. I know they make an AccessPORT for the MS3. Other than that I haven't looked into COBB parts. I will have to do a little more research. By the way how do you like your MS3? I've had mine for a year and a half now and I love it. I haven't done anything to it yet, but it's a great piece of machinery.

You don't really need to worry about fueling until your fully bolted or close to it. Im at 300whp and my stock fuel pump is holding pressure fine.

CPE has good quality parts and as you already know they are expensive. But other companies have solid products as well. Corksport, COBB, CPE . . . all make quality parts.

Correct.

You're right I don't need the fuel pump yet, but I like to be prepared. That's also the reason I haven't added anything yet. I still haven't payed the car off and I will later this year, but I'm just trying to gather some more knowledge before I start doing a ton of stuff to my car. I already have my first three modifications picked out (most likely going to get from cp-e). They are: Downpipe and CBE, FMIC, and CAI. After that I'll look into boost controller (not to up the boost, but to lower it).

Catback is just a sound mod if you don't know already. Expensive mod for no gain. And with a DP your stock exhaust will be pretty loud.

As for the boost controller. That route is not the best way to go. Its better to set your boost via tuning. You will save money and gain performance in the long run.

Thanks for the pointers. That's why I'm on here. I'm not a genius when it comes to this stuff so I'm trying to see what everyone else knows.

As far as tuning the ECU is conscerned the vast majority of users on these forums uses the COBB AP. Their new tuner software allows you to customize your engine parameters. As well as providing a bunch of generic maps from which to choose from. The device allows you to monitor everything (knock, A/F, boost, fuel trims, etc etc) as well as log data which you can load on your computer.

The other option is the cpe standback and the new hypertech. There is a thread about hypertech which you can read for yourself.

I just had my car professionally tuned using the cobb AP and the car runs like a dream.
