So anybody tried them?

I have to slap on some new rubber for next summer because my dunsh*t direzzas are finally (or is it already?) finished!

Want to know if they handle well in rainy conditions, since this was my greatest concern with the dunlops and if they have better longetivity than direzzas.

The price looks right, I checked on tirerack.com

Thanks for the heads up.

a good tire for the price, but ive read get noisy after awhile.

just read the reviews on tire rack, that will be the best way to gauge what tires to get.

I just got some a few days ago and so far I love them.. They are a little noisey but there not that bad. It's been raining here ever since I got them and I've hade no problems.

I've had the SPT's for over 20k miles nows (just over two years). They're on their last leg but they've worked well for me. For a UHP tire their wet traction is pretty good but I wouldn't swear by them. Don't even think about using them in snow/ice. Great handling although the sidewalls are a little soft. I didn't really notice any noise increase over my previous tires (some generic Goodyears on the stock wheels).

^I have SPTs on mine too. I did notice that they are a little bit louder than my old stock dunlops, but still way quieter than my snow tires. Proteges are hardly quiet to start with, its just a little more noise. While I only had them on for about a month before it was time for the winters to go on I was very impressed by the preformance.

Just got the kumho ecsta asx tires

It's just my first day though. I had bare summer dunlop sp901 on mine, haha, and winter is about to start. They are quiter than my old tires, and feel like there is much more traction. I'll try to post after I get them through some rain and snow.

Which Ecstas are you looking at?

I ran the AST's for almost two years and 27k miles. They had great grip in the dry and wet but after about 20k miles they sucked in the lightest of snow. I probab could have gotten over 30k out of them had one not been shot due to an improper alignment (by the alignment shop).

Noise was tolerable...besides that is why I have an intake/axleback and radio knob. :)

I just popped a set of falken ziex 912's today. After i get all of my struts replaced tomorrow (!) As well as rear swayvar links, and front and rear swaybar bushings (or anything else that might have worn out in 140k miles), I'll let you knows know how they feel.

The reviews I read on them said that they have awesome dry traction, great wet traction and are pretty quiet. But they are useless in snow. Since I live in Tucson, that's not a factor for me...

all the shops in my area are dumb, i should mention that before this post. every time i have a blow out or am in a situation where i absolutely need a new tire immediately, they never have the same brand (if they have them at all). so one of my tires is an AST, another is a falken ziex, and the front 2 are toyos. doesnt seem like a bad ride to me, tho.

I drove all summer with brand new Kumho Ecsta SPTs, having previously driven two years with the stock Dunlops, and the difference is like night and day. Great in every aspect and I thought both grip and traction was outstanding in the rain and even better in dry/hot conditions. They look nice and stylish too!

You can't go wrong with the Kumho Ecsta SPTs, especially for the price.
