Have a 2012 hatchback, came with the "switchblade" keys with remote lock/unlock/panic.
Gathering information about what keys and/or fobs will work with this system.
I want the immobilizer disabled, but would like to keep the remote lock/unlock/panic.
Local tech says we could clear all the keys from the system and it will then start with
plain, non-electronic keys but I would lose the remote lock functions. So I didn't go
down that road (yet). I learned that Curtis MZ31 blanks can be cut to fit the lock,
and now have one. And yes it fits the ignition but when you turn it nothing happens.
At least it's something I can carry in my wallet in case I lock myself out of the car,
but if I were to lose the "switchblade" I'd still be stranded.
Anyone have further insight that may help?
