keyless smart key works occasionally

hi, i have an 08 cx7 and my keyless smart card is a hit or miss. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. When I hit the button on thr door handle, my smart card key blinks red... so I imagine it receives a signal... but it doesn't open or close my doors. please help.

you probably need either a new battery in the key, or your button/antenna/reciever box is on the fritz. they replaced my trunk button/antenna twice in the Speed6

My girlfriend was having similar issues with her CX7. Sometimes when we would get in the car and try to start it, it wouldn't sense the key fob. I turned out that her ipod charger, that was plugged into the center console, was causing some kind of interference. We unplugged that and it hasn't caused problems since.
